Everyone loved Ruiz after Costa Rica's cinderella run in 2014 when they made it to quarter-finals and lost in the penalty shoot-out to the Netherlands. I honestly wished they had been able to defeat them. Seeing a small nation like that in the semis would have been iconic. Their historic run lives in my mind rent-free
