Anyone else thinking Ampadu actually plays way better at this level? There were times last season it felt like he slowed down the tempo too much when the opposition were parking the bus and every single player was in front of him. When the game’s more dynamic he’s magnificent 💪
Also thinking with the amount of balls into the box we had last night, especially Gudmundsson’s ability to whip it in early, DCL could well thrive. His signing video showed he’s still got some serious hops…
Ampadu must be made out of rubber if he’s not seriously injured from that challenge. His foot was basically facing backwards at one point 😅
The only problem now as I see it, is that with the poor start some established sides have had and in some cases their lack of transfer action they might panic. This could lead to those clubs been willing to over spend on players just to get them and potentially price us out of the market. Hopefully the club have managed to keep their real targets quiet and under the radar. After last nights performance some players and agents who were not interested in us just might have second thoughts and now reconsider us. Conversely other players that are with other Premier League clubs might no longer be available to us as their parent clubs might not want to sell to us as we may be considered as a real threat to them now.

DCL not being there last night showed our lack in front of goal and need for a great striker. We were so good in 1st half but not very close to scoring. Likely, it’ll be even more obvious at Arsenal and Newcastle. The rest of the squad was humming. Hope we still look this good in a few weeks.

I couldnt believe what I was seeing last night once the game started. We bossed it, we pressed like madmen, won nearly all the 2nd balls and the way we played down the left in those triangles feigning to attack then coming back and tiring them was ace. Tarkowski was on camera with a look on his face that basically said "Whats going on!?". Same with Garner and O'Brien.
I also saw a comment on social media saying we have no chance of staying up as we are going to struggle to score. Im not sure if he was a neutral or an Everton fan but Im not worried after a total of 20+ shots to their what? 5? 6?
Well happy with last night although Aaronson still seems out of his depth. He continues to struggle with making decisions, always fouling, then going down hoping for a foul that never was! I think there is a player in there but not sure if he belongs in England
