benfica were bad but could have easily been 2 – 0 up early on if not for a hit off the post and lucky left arm save by pope… other than that we absolutely deserved that victory and how about that lovely back heal touch from waltamade to gordon… im surprised you didnt mention this. great game and hope we can play this good in the prem !! 🤘

Thought we were outstanding. Benfica showed some quality in the first half but we got into the game and dominated them. Gordon was absolutely phenomenal as was Barnes. Popes assist was sheer class and I hope he can improve his distribution more like he did tonight. Great team performance so lets hope we can take this into the Fulham and Spurs games.
The foreign teams no where near as intense, physical or speedy as PL teams…back to reality against Fulham.

We did the job well but seeing what Benfica had to offer makes the CL pots look ridiculous. They are a Pot 2 team! A top 8 finish looks achievable if we continue to play like that.
