Dalić gets hate, first and foremost, because he is a proud Catholic which doesn't sit well with a lot of people. Yes, he played declining senior national team players over talented youngsters, yes he cannot seem to play good football during Euros, yes he is a terrible orator. But – also – he is the best national team manager ever. Not a Croatian manager, but manager in general. Being a manager of 30 year old nation with 3.5 million population and winning two medals in WC is utterly insane accomplishment.
