Ajax's downfall started when marc overmars left the club due to inappropriate messages that changed their history completely plus they have sacked so many managers and board directors left the club due to poor results also Ajax is no longer an elite team in European football
Terrible research, kudus did never play in Norway. He played in Denmark.
Bruh were not a fallen club and the disaster isn't as big as all these drama lovers make it out to be. Second place last year, top 5 this year. We will bounce right back Since the 70's Ajax always has had shit periods and great periods
As a feyenoord supporter i say, so beautiful 😍 to see that Ajax hasn't anything in the last 3 years. PSV and Feyenoord fans sing this! Btw i write this in my native language. Hellemaal niets, Hellemaal niets, Hellemaal niets in 020. ✖️✖️✖️ stands for 3 years trophyless 🎉🎉 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
FEYENOORD 🔴⚪️⚫️
Feyenoord is way better and Giminez was amsterdams father and fuck Berghuis they dont win because hes a snake and the football gods humbled him
This video could have been 30 minutes
I get that people say it, but Frenkie de Jong is not an Ajax youth player.
He was bought when he was 18 years old, after already making his debut for Willem II.
He played a couple of games for the U21 team, that is it.
Also, Marc Overmars also worked a lot solo, that is why he left behind such a big gap.
As the whole business strategy and all the connections where on the phone off Overmars.
You did your homework, great stuff. Right now I'm barely surviving watching the entire 90 minutes of Ajax games. Sometimes I even skip a match. It's so painful on the eyes. I can't stand it anymore. This is going to take years and years of recovery. In the meantime we're just spectators to the worst football in Ajax history. We're the joke of the Dutch league right now.
What’s missing in this video is the decrease in number of talents coming through Ajax’ academy. Before, Ajax could rely on quality youngsters coming through their academy every year. Their academy was recognized as the best of the country, and had a pull on young players internationally. Since AZ’s academy is widely recognized as having a better academy, Ajax have failed to produce top talents
Its so good to be a PSV fan these days…..so good😂
Yes he got them back in the CL….. zero points , 1 goal made 16 against….. worst achievement in dutch history
To bad you wont tell about the criminal players on the pitch. Yes it is true. Drugdealers, murderers, asult, insider trading. And more!
I just clicked on this video and first thing i get is a Ajax Beko ad.😂
It's true that all this is cyclical for Ajax. Which is ironic, because at the height of the ETH period, they were making noises about wanting to become the Bayern Munich of the Netherlands. Funny how that worked out.
There are bigger problems than just the head coach, but it always boggled the mind how Ajax gravitate towards guys like Marcel Keizer, Schreuder, Heitinga, etc. who just don't have the personal qualities to be a manager at this level. Maybe the execs want someone they can easily control. Heitinga's agent warned him not to take this job, but he did it anyway.
Plus of course there is always the dreaded "Ajax DNA" i.e. the random demand that the coach must play "high pressing, attacking football" no matter if his team is up to it or not. In the run-up to this season, they promised the return of that style as a rather obvious dig at Farioli, but the squad simply isn't there. Contrary to what one might expect, Farioli was actually very popular with the fans. They are happy to accept a more pragmatic approach as long as you explain your reasoning clearly and get results (which Farioli didn't quite manage, but came close to). Now Fred Grim is also slowly reverting to more pragmatic tactics based on the squad that's actually there.
The whole model of training world class players in the youth academy and selling them at a profit is great, but the problem is the academy doesn't churn out world class talents every year. Some generations are very good, like the ones ETH worked with, others are middling at best. But even the average ones would be preferable to the kind of players that Mislintat signed. Although that has also seen a bit of an overcorrection. Some of Mislintat's signings could have been useful if given time. Farioli got Gaaei to perform. Forbs may have been let go too easily, although I don't know if it was necessary for the salary structure. But selling all these guys at a loss seems to have been an overreaction. Finances permitting, that should have only been done for the few that were outright useless.
The sad thing is that Ajax is now at the same place it was 2 years ago, i.e. not even halfway into the season, and it's already wasted, everyone is in an interim position, everything is up in the air, and everyone's just trying to make it to the end of the season. Such a waste of everyone's time. All Grim can do is go back to basics, string some results together, and challenge for 2nd or 3rd spot. And then who knows what kind of 'saviour' will be brought in then?
The guy Mislintat looks like Gordon Strachan's dodgy wee cousin.
May the hatewatch be long and plentifull❤️
They deserve everything that is happening to them.
Wow, this is such a good analysis from someone who probably doesn't know all the ins and outs. As a season ticket holder, it was extremely painful to see Farioli leave, but I think there was no keeping him. He apparently was really frustrated with the bureaucratic nature of Ajax and the old fashioned way of thinking. Imo Ajax has a way out of the cycle of turmoil if they change their governance system. Right now, a lot of power is in the hands of people who believe having 'Ajax-DNA' is the most special thing in the world. This also led to the appointment of Heitinga as coach, clearly a 'we know him' case over quality.
If Ajax manage to change their governance, they might have a strong comeback. The club still has significant financial power and a huge fanbase (atleast in NL). For the longer term, Marijn Beuker also appears to be doing some good work, sorting out the neglected academy for example. I just hope the club stays calm enough to let qualified people like him do his work. The powerful media figures (ex-players, de Telegraaf) have already started to criticize him. They're conservatives through and through and are scared of progress. Ironically, them desperately clinging on to Ajax-DNA is far removed from what Ajax actually is. Ajax has always been about progress and new ideas. Here's to hoping we can return to those values.
thats wild, my ad before this video was about Ajax 'The Confidence Partner' lmao
United said Hi
Loving every second. Their fan behaviour shows how bad at losing they are
Frenkie de Jong is not an Ajax academy player, he is a willem 2 academy player, like VVD. He only left for Ajax at 18 yrs old. If de Jong is Ajax academy then Xavi Simons is PSV academy, both are ridiculous notions.
I apologize for ignoring this very informative, and for me, sad tale of Ajax's rapid decline, but I need to address next year's World Cup.
Re your mention of the World Cup draw: there was no way I could watch Gianni Infantino fellating Donald Trump, watching either Infantino or Trump, seeing Wayne Gretzky, Stallone, and finally the Village People. FIFA have done it: they have gotten me to hate the World Cup and actually hope that this bloated event somewhat co-hosted (but as an accessory to the show being run by Trump and ICE) by Canada, is a failure.
I can't say for sure that I won't watch any of the 104 games (and I will follow it somewhat), but I am afraid that Infantino and FIFA, in order to placate the toddler President, will do everything to ensure that the US goes far in said tournament (people who thought the South Korea march to the semis was "assisted" by the referees may look back on that one as being charming.
Frenkie is not a youth product of ajax
Mislintat is a hero here
Don’t forget that the situation with Ajax has become so bad, that fans (hooligans) have started to interfere with the games themselves as seen in the example with the Groningen game last week.
lekker voor ze arrogante amsterdammers zijn lekker stil
It would have been a tremendous spit in the face of all woman at Ajax if they took Overmars back. it already is that they even tried.
Kkr Ajax 😂
Some of the most expensive d-pics of all time 😂 Thank you Marc!
You seem very well-researched and approach your videos without a lot of judgment or prejudice, unlike many popular British football channels. You also seem to care about historically significant clubs and fan bases being where they belong, so could you do a video on Wolves? I've also seen that you covered our club when we were at our peak, so it could tie together nicely. I don't personally agree with the all out scapegoating the majority of the fanbase seems to do and I have some nuanced opinions on popular players and managers that have come through the club that often get proven to be true, so I may not agree with everything you find but I would like more attention to be brought to the situation at Wolves that isn't just out of touch fans of bigger clubs that want to see us fail.
The remarkable thing about the Mislintat story is that some of his signings suddenly turned out to be very good players once they left Ajax. Mikautadze, after a few good seasons in France, is now performing very respectably at Villarreal; Forbs is playing well for Club Brugge; Ramaj has proven to be a good goalkeeper for FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga, and so on. All of these players were, to some extent, understandable signings.
I think the main issue was that the appointment of Steijn was a mismatch. In the Netherlands, Steijn is known for putting together a stable mid-table team with fairly experienced players, essentially by not doing anything crazy or unusual. He also typically works with a Dutch-speaking core of players, something Ajax simply didn’t have during his time. If you ask a man like that to shape a team full of unknown players who don’t quite fit together into a coherent squad, you’re asking for trouble.
And while players like Gaaei and Sutalo are still in the first team, it’s clear that Mislintat ultimately set Ajax back. But perhaps the biggest problem of all is that Ajax has a failing supervisory board. It is their responsibility to replace Overmars, and they have never succeeded. Huntelaar and Hamstra made expensive mistakes, Mislintat created chaos, and Kroes hasn’t managed to establish anything either. Years after Overmars’ departure, Ajax essentially needs to start all over again.
I don't see the problem here.
It's beautiful what's happening to Ajax
At Ajax they're always so full of getting people who understand "the Ajax culture". Maybe they should get people who understand football.
This isn’t unheard of for Ajax..
thank you for uploadingi really needed something to make me feel better
A reliable source told me once that its 11inches, that made ajax fall🤪
Jordi el Salvador Segundo is coming
The harsh truth is, almost nobody gives a fuck how bad Ajax is. We celebrate it, cause almost everyone hates Ajax.
You know you're in trouble when Erik ten Hag refuses to manage your team.😂
Ajax fans said they were gonna be the Bayern of the Netherlands 😂😂😂
Alex Kroes is also a crazy egomaniac who is all words and has zero results to show for it. I support PSV so I don't mind him but if I were an Ajax fan I'd want to see him go ASAP…
