I would say quarry by decision. Quarry had the chin to take tremendous punches by shavers frazier foster lyle and even sparred with big george foreman. So i would also think baers right hand would be no problem for quarry if it lands. I see quarry out working baer down the stretch, cause he had more tools and was faster. I think quarry would beat baer at his own style by decison in my opinion. Great fantasy fight.
i think Quarry would win in a very tough fight , think he was more rounded than Baer and just about tough enough to handed Baer's power and rough tatitics, Baer was a beast in his time , other fighter were bigger in his eara like Primo Carnera, Abe Simon and his brother Buddy. But they did not have his power , aggresion and chin. Quarry fought better fighters he should grinded out a win , but he could be a tough night .

It's a shame Jerry Quarry even entered the ring being such a good looking young man.Fighting Joe Frazier,Ken Norton and Ron Lyle probably didn't do much for his looks.The life of Jerry Quarry is such a tragic one .Jerry died from brain damage at a young age .I think a great boxing movie could be made about Quarry's life

This is a very tough one to call. Both men possessed alot of heart, could mix it up and both had good chins. Bear beat alot of good fighters, could hit his loss to Braddock was a shock. Quarry was a real tough guy fought the best never backed down and possessed better ring tactics than Bear…so I have to give this to Quarry in a close hard fight.
Quarry was a much better fighter than Max Baer. I don't think it's even close. The contemporary view in the trade was that Baer was an undeserving champion- technically poor and lacking in dedication. In looking at all his surviving footage, I'm struck by an absence of professional skills. My only question would be, at what point in this one-sided beating would the referee step in to prevent serious injury to Baer. I doubt this one would have gone the distance.
