He needs to go to the bundesliga. It's not a difficult call either. MLS wont make him a better player bc teams there don't spend enough money on defenders. Playing in bundesliga would make him a serious contender for the usmnt spot, which he is not currently. I think the WC at home is already gone for him tho, or at least it should be.
Ugh. The ignorance is troubling.
1) Toronto's offer to Norwich is less than what it took Wolfsburg to get a yes from them last summer, so it is not a crazy offer.
2) Sargent's contract is not close to expiring. It runs through 2028.
3) He has been in Europe since 2018. What is he going to learn in year 9 that not only has not been taught to him in the past eight years, but also is beyond the scope of knowledge in North America? Idiotic fantasy thinking.
4) If he is going to be a DP, and the transfer fee range says he will, then he has to go when a willing spender has both a DP spot open and a need at striker. That is why the time is now. If this falls through, TFC will find someone else, and there goes that option for him.
There's no point in waiting for your contract to expire unless you are a superstar or have extremely good leverage. Your current club will just bench you and stop considering you, and in the meanhwhile your potential suitors might find a better/hotter/cheaper option.
