Writing was on the wall for Jon David when he was actually playing well and Spaletti still bemoaned to the media about not having a 9 who can hold up play and how McKennie would make a great 9 etc etc
I hate when people say David has played 28 league games, he's played 1400 minutes its like 15 full games, while he hasnt done himself any favors, nor is that number were he wants to be but he has been a pariah at juve and most isnt justified. His play style has also allowed mckennie to have a career year offensively.
Kone should absolutely stay in Sass for a bit. He's bounced around too much the last few years and is only now getting regular starts.
Both Kone and David have 5 goals. Anyone have that one on your soccer bingo card?
As a Coventry City Fan I know they will be looking for a new striker when they get promoted to the Premier League. They won't stay with Wright and Simms. The Coventry City owner has said he won't go crazy with the spending and David may be an option given his price will likely be affordable relative to other options available. I would love it if it happened but not expecting it. PUSB !
answer: Kone already is; David is an amazing system striker who is not in a system tailored to him
As a Juve fan, David has played well but Spaletti wants him to be a different type of 9. David works really well as a second striker, but I'm afraid Spaletti doesn't want that. He wants a classic 9 that's always in the box.
The word is that Tottenham are looking to take Mikautadze off of Villarreal's hands and both the transfer fee and salary are almost exactly what J. David would go for. Would love to see David go to Villarreal!
Im going to be real here, im not sure why ppl think that when our current mens player pool players move to a top 5 team in a top 5 league these players are going to get starting or consistent minutes….
Like look at all the players that have moved to “top” clubs. None of them have come to fruition.
We are trending in the right direction. Realistically we’re still another 5–10 yrs away from having Canadians in top 5 leagues starting on top 5 teams within the leagues.
We need more players moving to European clubs and growing within those systems or more dual nats in European clubs committing to Canada IN conjunction within the CPL growing but that’s still a “project” if we’re being honest
