So you're not really explaining why he's not on the team, just that Berhalter is Tuchel-ing him. There's no good reason why he's not getting better looks. People can complain that he missed a sitter in Azteca, but we all know our other guys wouldn't have even been there to receive the pass. He buries it 95/100 as proven in club play. GGG's system is inherently flawed and he's destroying the creativity of our best players by denying them the ball.

It’s not a meritocracy because it’s picked by a human with inherent biases… but it should be meritocracy and it’s embarrassing that it isn’t, especially given our lack of quality depth at this moment in time
I understand Lalas’s points but a lot of the issues with USMNT is also because of People like Alexi Lalas as he refuses to be critical of the obvious and at every step will overly support MLS and Berhalter.
Pefok should have been there! We needed height against Holland. Morris! give me a break. Greg is a terrible manager. Brings in a bunch of players he didn't play. Brings in players at the last minute who he didn't play in Qualifying , or friendlies. Arrogant, beyond previous performance at club or national level. Get rid of him!

Blunt answer: because Bethalter is an mls coach who only understands basic concepts where he molds players to fit his concepts over the talent pool. Coaches like these get overwhelmed when they have good players who questions their decisions
Alexi is a bum ! A national team is a group of the best players from that country and the coaches job is to make it work ,
