Edouard Mendy, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Ben Chilwell and Reece James definitely can have a very best defensive structure in Europe, and helping in attack as well. Just hope that the wingers and the striker can perform better than now.
totally agree with you however in crossing still he is not impressive. all the balls you demonstrated were close to him. but that doesn't mean he is great and solid otherwise. one of the key elements that tiago, zouma and mendy all speak french which make the communication easier Great video cheers

I’m surprised he struggles to “read” the ball as a sweeper which is pretty much similar to a decision to make an explosive run to pick a high ball…however, it could be because he is (relatively) slow with his feet (tall man syndrome) that may explain his sweeping mistakes…he needs to play as a classic libero in training 2. he received 38 shots on target in 16 games thats like 2.4 shots per game ie a walk in the park/ dream job…I’m more interested in his expected goals!🔥⚽️

One weakness I noticed since before he joined Chelsea, which I thought he may have rectified but was being shown a lot in your video is…his parry back to the playing field after stopping the shot. It's obvious that in recent games opposition started to lob the ball near to penalty box to lure him out to make mistakes. I hope his weakness of parrying the ball back to the playing field won't get noticed. Else, the EPL team especially like Man City are gonna thrive to score this kind of tap in.
What about his poor handling of the ball; weak punches in danger zones, not catching when he should be. There is also bad communication with his defenders. Average PL goalkeeper. He is a cheap$ plaster t'ill Chelsea can buy the proper goalkeeper

He needs to work on his penalty saves. I think he goes down very early before the shot goes.

He is pretty bad at saving penalties or even in guessing the direction shooter is gonna go. That's one thing he can work on.
Kepa is good at penalty and also a good sweeper than Mendy

He is a human…not a robot. Humans has weaknesses… So do mendy. But overall he is one of the best keeper in European football now.
