A midfielder that I am hoping we are interested in under the quiet is Benjamin Bourigeaud. I wont pretend like I have been watching him in ligue 1 but I did a Gonzo and watched his highlights. He was the 3rd highest assister in France last season behind Messi and Mbappe. He is a set piece specialist like ward prowse but he would cost a lot less. He also seems to create way more chances from open play than JWP does. He played for Rennes with Aguerd and so we would already have established contact with his club in this very window and so a deal could be done if they are open to selling. He is 28 years old and in his prime. I think we could get him for 20m and he would do well for us in a midfield 3 and greatly increase our creativity. He also isn't shy in the tackle seemingly pulling his weight defensively. Could be a real coup. Leicester have been linked to him as a potential tielemans replacement.

I'd be a bit concerned if we brought in the likes of JWP, Tielemans, Danjuma, Lingard and with Aguerd in now, sending Dawson, Soucek to the bench… we'd be losing a LOT of our size and our set piece attackers… we'd have plenty of players capable of great delivery, but only one or two players who can attack those deliveries. We score a lot of goals from set pieces, and a lot of those come from Dawson and Soucek. Idk, just a thought/worry.
These are all good players, but the premier league targets are just a rehash of our Raphina and Phillips interest. We rightly like them, but they have no interest in us. And the clubs that have them see us as their competitors. Why give a decent fee and strengthen us? 70 million for JWP? Laughable. But if Liverpool came in and asked, I bet they could get him for 40 million. Why would Tielemans come to us. He wants above Leicester, and at the start of the season, Leicester was the team we wanted to be like. Aston Villa has a more exciting manager and will spend money to improve. You think Gerrard wants to help us out? Only if we pay through the nose. Moyes seems to be unable to read the room. Danjuma is different because he really wants to play in England. I do worry that he has been injury prone. Also, at Villarreal, when he plays up top, he plays with another guy next to him. I don't think it is wise to expect similar results if the system is different. Even if the style of counterattacking football is the same.
8 days before our first friendly and only one new signing so far and STILL no striker lined up. And as far as I am aware, no solid offers yet for anyone else.

Surely there's a club somewhere that could make use of him, especially if he's not priced too highly? I don't want to see Fornals playing in that role either. No to McGinn! Especially if he is valued at like 30m+. Worth about 15m tops i'd say. Tielemans would be unreal – think he is different class and could play for the top 6 (bar Man City) – he was linked with Arsenal for 25m.. but as you say Geo, i'd be surprised if Tielemans would want the move.

A sort of box to box who'd be happy on the bench and affect play either as a 6, an 8, or a 10. Soucek is class but wasn't used to his strengths last season. If we have to prepare for life without rice in 2023, not utilising a top player in that position seems like a reckless idea
So both players in the headlines are going to move sideways to westham. Both play for better coaches who play attacking football and I'll bet they both finish above westham next season
