Actually England's group was the real group of death. Croatia, Czechia and Scotland are very good teams. England managed to win the group without conceding a goal and dominated the opponents every match. Southgate is a very pragmatic coach with a no nonsense attitude. He stuck with proven performers like Maguire and Henderson in spite of their injuries and now it will give him dividends. Now the team is a blend of experience and youth, and solidity and speed. England team totally dominated the Czechs tactically and in the second half the Czech team didn't even have a single shot on target. This team would not set the arena on fire but would get the job done under the no nonsense approach of Southgate. I think Sterling would terrorize the German defense and England nicks it either 2-0 or 3-1.

2 semi finals , no goals conceded in this tournament. 2nd best win percentage behind Capello (excluding big Sam ha). Ok he's pragmatic and the football could be more exciting. But I'd rather win a trophy and a team that is solid and doesn't concede gives itself every chance.
