I watched this show religiously.
The ball display is about 2 ball widths wider that the plate.
Johnny was right about 'some of the pitches some of major league hitters swung at'. By the early 80's plate discipline
virtually disappeared.
Johnny and Williams may have broken some windows near the little league field.
Funny watching Ted take off the safari jacket. he could hit in a straight jacket.
I remember Saturday mornings watching this with my Dad. Good memories and Johnny Bench was perfect as host. I knew I was terrible at hitting so I would just draw walks-hey, I'd usually score after stealing bases. (Pee-Wee league pitchers were terrible.) I got beaned 3 times my first year, one of them left a nice purple goose-egg right in the crook of my inside elbow.
Ted created the batting tee😸
I never saw this episode but what a great one. Ted was really humble and happy to teach his skills. What a great story those kids have to tell for the rest of their life. I like the lesson he show his % of hits in different pitch locations. Ted had a great eye and would he even states there are locations where he could not hit the ball at a high %. Ted even obliges them by taking a few cracks. That's probably the last film clip of Ted hitting a baseball.
Ted Williams using a fishing pole to catch The Chicken’s glove? Wackiness.
Every Saturday morning I woke up to watch this show. Learning how to dive and slide from the great Mr. Bench
Ted Williams R.I.P
Listening to Ted Williams talk about hitting is like listening to God Himself leading a sermon.
The show had some silly moments I watched the show as much as i could and I remember Ted Williams my father called me in and said i have to watch this show. And everything he said and was teaching those kids I really hope they were listening to him cuz nobody talked better about hitting a baseball better then Ted Williams
Loved this series as a kid.
Ted Williams was such a stud. War Hero, handsome, and there is no question he is the greatest hitter of all time.
Dont believe me? Go look up his statistics. They are absolutely incredible.
he threw out the 1986 world series game 5's ceremonial 1st ball
Enjoyed Ted Williams explain it…
Just a shame he hid his Mexican heritage to the public.
Ted Williams was baseball's first Latin superstar.
Being on the show when Ted Williams was there? Wow!!!! Just wow!!⚾️
What are the chances that Ted Williams just happens to be at the field to give the kids some hitting tips.
Watched this every Saturday morning as a kid. Stumbled upon it now, and I watched this video all the way through. Listening to Ted Williams talk about hitting? When he shed the jacket and grabbed a bat at the end, the room got a little dusty for a moment. Damn if it didn't.
Saturday baseball when I was a kid growing up.
1:20 Are we just going to ignore the balk pun
Love how they used Wild Thing 😆

What a waste of time for kids to watch this rotten show.
