  2. I was hugely unimpressed by Michael Oliver's performance this afternoon. Giving Sony a yellow card for diving when he had been clearly tripped in the area by the less than fleet of foot Harry Maguire was a travesty, which he then followed up by booking Danny Rose and Jan Vertonghen for nothing challenges within a few minutes of each other, meaning that 30 minutes into the game not only had Spurs been denied a clear penalty (which VAR would have given), but two of their primary defenders were being forced to walk the tightrope of avoiding a second yellow for the rest of the game, and every single foul up to that point had been awarded to their opponents. Indeed, it would be the second half before Spurs got a free kick and two minutes later Oliver awarded Leicester a penalty for a foul that was debatable at best and certainly less clear cut than Maguire's foul on Son. No wonder that Alan Sugar tweeted, "The referee is playing for Leicester" and even the normally buttoned-up (when it comes to referees) Pochettino said in his post-match presser that he found Oliver's decisions "very strange".

It's hard to stay angry when your side has won the match but were I a conspiracy theorist, I would say that Michael Oliver was biased against Spurs because the man has previous in that respect. It was Oliver who denied us a penalty when Son had his standing foot taken away from him by a challenge from behind committed by Sadio Mane in injury time at the end of the Liverpool game in September. Had that penalty been awarded and been scored, the game would have ended 2-2 meaning that after 26 games the table would read, "Liverpool 63; Man City 62; Spurs 61." If that's not a 3-horse race, I don't know what is. Fortunately, this time his attempts to sabotage our season didn't work but I would be very wary if we were to get him again between now and matchday 38. Just saying.

  3. Get in! So happy they didn't start Vardy, another 3 points!!! Can you tweet Harry's predictions pre-match next time so we can make a bet or two! lol 🙂
Watched the City game afterwards though…They dismantled Chelsea!

  4. 3 quality goals from Spurs, great to see. Very entertaining game and great to see Winks and Sissokos' bursts from Midfield. Lloris MoM for me. Nice one Son x 2. Thankyou.
