I don't care what Logan did with a slutty woman. Last I checked,
Bergevin's job was to put out the best hockey team he could manage to
put on the ice. The moral questions and legal questions are rather
irrelevant to that question. Hockey players are not paid to be role
models. They are paid for the product they put on the ice. Dragging this
woman's charges and thrusting the story to a headline story doesn't
address her grievances, and while consequences for poor decisions are a
must the appropriate consequences are being applied through the justice
system. If those penalties are not deemed severe enough by the public,
seek to change the justice system. Pressuring companies to add censure
to legal penalties and deprive individuals of their ability to make a
living is nothing more than injustice. So good on Montreal for not
bowing to the beast of public opinion and putting the teams needs ahead
of virtue signaling.
He acquired the rights only, it has nothing to do with his past.. business is business. If he doesn't improve his character.. they can chose not to sign him, it's a risk but high reward. I like that MTL made that steal to be competitive.
