Michigan riders are lucky to have so many gravel roads, in Spring we have many races/rides to get in shape for the rest of the year, we start in March, many times in the snow/ice, Barry-Roubaix, Waterloo Grit n Gravel, to name a few, then there are many races all year, and rides too, some rides cross the state, thats 200+ milers. Gravel is safer then road riding, and more fun.
Person like me who live in the big city, I always dreamed such a bike riding in the wonderful nature…and not like a road bike, don’t need to worry about car so much.
I'm finding more gravel rides then races. Mid Atlantic region is growing in gravel rides and I'm liking the mix of venues. There's just to many distracted drivers on the road so people are starting with "rails to trails" type riding and enjoying nature more then dodging potholes and people on cell phones.
Accidentally gravel bike owner here, (Breezer radar pro) in chicago, recently noticing im the only gravel bike owner i have seen, didnt realize how new gravel bikes are until people started asking “what is that?”

A stage race in Vermont would be epic and doable. Vermont is hilly, miles and miles of gravel plus class 4 roads which are challenging.
If the UCI gets involved, the future of gravel racing is a bunch of bans on stupid shit like socks and mandatory crying.
