He's only had 23 apps for Sporting. Which would mean we are paying 37 MILLION for a player who might be having one good season till the opposition find out his weakness.
He might be the next Yaya Toure, but didn't Toure go for only 24 million?
The thing is he's a pure breaker, he doesn't do much else. We play with a two man midfield, and he's too specialized to play there. Basically he brings what Phill Jones does to our CM and you can see Jones' is too limited to play there because he can only tackle. We need a player similar to Javi Martinez who could do a bit of all and still provide good defensive cover.
personally i don't think this chap is good enough for us man united
haha! Why would you trust Moyes with £37 million?
Buy Toni Kroos with £37 million
Too much money for an unproven 21 year old.
William Carvalho is a freaking stud. Would be the best signing you guys have had since Moyes came to kill the squad
OVERRATED!!! Remember I said this 25/03/14 unproven talent, looked at his highlights. Not impressed.
Why would he join a mid table side?
37 million quids? no seriously? Lets take Toni Kroos for 30 millions then. Or may be we can get Mousa Dembele & Adam Lallana both for nearly the same amount.
Carvalho may be a good player, but 37M is way too much to pay for him. Remember Ando anyone? That worked out quite well in'it?
37 million. I hope he shows his worth.
Carvalho may be a good player, but 37M is way too much to pay for him.
Hi all…I'm from Portugal so I feel very confortable talking about William Carvalho. Do you know Matic who was transfered on the winter window to Chelsea?? It's the same quality of passing and defending and he plays simple. The team of Sporting Portugal plays with 4 defenders and a central defender (William Carvalho) in 4-1 defense formation and what he is capable to do in 90 minutes is being as a 3 central back helping the defense. Sporting Portugal usually plays with 4-1-3-2 formation and sometimes 4-1-2-3.
for 37 million,i want a player that supports the attack more/scores frm long range and has good versatility able to play in a few positions at 21 thats alot of dough,i would buy young and cheap then coach them up,or buy proven 25/26 yr old, another mistake. The worst thing utd could do is look to city 4 ideas/its a nonsense that u have to be 6 ft 5 and built like a brick shithouse to play d mfld, quick feet and lighting instincts is whats needed there, its not the size of the dog in the fight/its the size of the fight in the dog that matters.
We need more pace and strength throughout the team
Im portuguese FC Porto fan so he plays for our rivals Sporting, is range concerning passing could be considered a 5 yard passer, but is physical presence allows Sporting to playing alone in front of the defense but is definetly to a play that with the ball has the ability to drible players, in my opinion my club Porto has a better player that would be an absolute game changer for United tha is Fernando. The reality of portuguese football is that no one plays with a number 10, so what you have is in a 4-4-3 is a 6 and two 8 (Sporting's case), thats why some of portuguese defensive midfielders have enormous passing rates.
we should have bought Strootman last summer before Roma did he's been excellent up intill his injury. He's a young a box-to-box MF he has an important role in the dutch national team and he cost Roma less than 20m €
Over rated at 37 million.Bring someone proven , for that kind of money we would get Gundogan.Pay it double and bring Kroos !
I've already said this on another video, but here's the low-down as far as I can see it. The newspaper article was probably written by someone who doesn't understand football contracts that well. William Carvalho has a RELEASE CLAUSE, of £37m. Now for anyone to write that a "deal has been agreed", when the figure stated is only the release clause (which ANYONE can activate if they have the money to back it up), is somewhat ludicrous. Until you read the words, "William Carvalho has agreed terms with Man United", or even "Carvalho's agent has Jorge Mendes is in discussion with Man United over a summer move", then forget about it. Because, for United to have actually agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon, that deal has to be less than £37m, otherwise the correct way of writing it is "United have triggered a release clause for William Carvalho", and if that was true, you'd never hear anything about Sporting or their agreement. Right now, we haven't heard anything of William Carvalho agreeing terms, and as it is in most cases, that's the most important and tricky part of the deal.
Bottom line, wait awhile before you get too excited, there are papers now suggesting a £32m summer bid, not actually a definite transfer. And I know he's been onsite, having a tour of the grounds, but that's still not definite as to his signing with United, other players have taken a tour. I'd personally love William Carvalho to join, he's a better option than Cleverly and he's got a great range of passing (which very few people here on the comment section seem to realise or acknowledge, maybe they haven't checked him out very thoroughly). I'm almost 100% certain he'll be a success, if you look at him closely, there's a real talent brewing, only 21 and he's a commanding central midfielder. Annoyingly, he has a similar physique and presence to Pogba, but he looks more gritty and focused than that merc ever did, so that's a bonus. And we don't know the ins and outs, if he does join for £37m, perhaps that's an agreement to pay £15m when United win the league, similar to the breakdown of Carrick's transfer from £14m up to the £18m it eventually became.
PLEASE DON'T BUY IN, BECAUSE I M FROM SPORTING
HE IS A TOP CLASS PLAYER, AND HE ALWAYS KEEPS THE BALL ON THE GROUND
HE IS THE NEXT BIG THING COMING FROM PORTUGAL, I ASSURE YOU, HE WILL PUT CARRICK AND ALL OF MIDFIELDERS ON THE BENCH
AND PAY ATTENTION HE IS AND A DEFENSIVE MID PLAYER, AND HE ISN'T A ATACTING MID MAINDED, BUT HE IS VERY CALM WHEN PASSES THE BALL
AND I THINK HE BE COMPARE TO SERGIO BUSQUETE
what a load of crap lolol you man utd peeps are drunk.. go home
WILLIAM CARVALHO is a Freaking BEAST, trust me It will be a key element on UTD midfield. (Sporting fan)
Don't speak too fast! William Carvalho will make an outstanding World Cup tournament. Might not be joining United…
William is by far the best DMF in the world , but from what i am reading here from some utd fans you guys prefer another style of player. Let be honest i dont believe that hes interested joining moyes´s united , in that team only Rooney is better player than him
Im a Benfica fan and this guy is the real deal. His positional awareness is brilliant; he's always clogging passing lanes, making interceptions, and covering for Sporting's attack-minded full-backs. William has the ability to be at the right place at the right time to quell any potential danger. He's incredibly strong physically and remarkably composed on the ball. In recent weeks, he has even demonstrated his ability to play long, incisive passes. I have no doubt that he has the quality to excel at the highest level. Pure class.
he's one of best players sporting has made in the past few years since nani and moutinho, I have watched all his game this season and believe me is really good.
WE SHOULD OF GOT STROOTMAN AND KOKE INSTEAD. BOTH WOULD BE CHEAPER THAN 37MILL
He's a good player but not £37M worth. Nowhere near that.
we need carvalho, he is an animal! he does all the simple things right like he does all the tackling in the middle of the field, he can shoot, out strength alot of players and is all round a great player, if we get him and maybe arturo vidal in the centre that would be great!
William Carvalho rules!
http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/man-united-arsenal-sent-scouts-to-watch-sportings-william-carvalho-v-porto-he-produced-a-superb-run/
William is going to ManU.. but i guarantee United hasn't payed the 37 million.. but William is a beast, very strong, very athletic great defensively, with a developping passing game and creativity.. love watching him play
37 mill for a player of that age is way too much i think. had it been pogba i would be happy but the player we have doesnt look fierce, sharp or fast. He just seems to me like ''somebody in the making'' like anderson, nani who we thought could be right so am not sure any wise manager would do that but we all know that David isnt that smart. Had he been smart he would have never benced Kagawa or never paid 27 million for a clown to begin with. Moyes lacks tactics, charm and balls to be a united manager.MOYES OUT!
We are not going to buy carvallho because good players what cl
People often say he don't works enough in the attack, but he doesn't needs it, because he controls the full midfield alone…
If you have him in the team you can put Mata and Rooney as "10" because he can make the job as 6 without help!!
´sporting doesn't want to sell him so what sporting is doing today is setting the young players with high release clauses so that sporting is able to keep him. This is a think that didn't done in the past, so the players were bought very yearly and very cheap. So this is being done so that sporting can be as great club as benfica and porto
he is black
okay, i am a sporting lisbon fan, i've watched him play the entire season and all i can say about william carvalho is that once he gets to the starting line-up in the nacional team, he will never leave again 😉
he is absolutely a monster and even with all his strenght and his size, the truth is that he seems to float the all time, with an incredible smoothness while in possession of the ball and perfect timing pressuring the opponents when deffending.
he is perfect tactically and we never see him running too much cause he is always in the right place and always plays it simple.
definetely better than carrick and a lot like Patrick Vieira.
it does seem a lot of money for this player but totally worth it and i would be sad to see him leaving, but i would also love to see him in the premier league playing for Manchester United.
i would like to offer myself to discuss with you about your club team and signings and about the players that just don't have the quality to be in such a huge club.
Seems promising. But 37m? I could name a few other proven world class players that be bought with another 5-10m
decent player defiantly led fit in. not worth 37m just yet but the price is based on his clause in the contract. hope we sign him he reminds me of Vieira
Hi, Sporting fan here, my name is João i'm 17 from Lisbon. I have seen him live, I went to the Sporting Stadium on the 16th of March this year and I saw him play and he completely destroyed the Porto midfield and was involved in the goal that gave us the victory 1-0 against Porto. He has amazing Dribbling technique, he can hold the ball well, especially in a crowd and rarely losses it. Type in Sir William on the youtube search box and click the first vídeo to see what i'm all about, I also know that Sporting and Portuguese newspapers have not confirmed a deal from Manchester United or any other club in that case. Thank You and have a nice day.
Woo! Hoo!
37mil is a bit strong? maybe offer them Fellaini and get him for 36mil? Surely Vidal can't be much more?
We have not actually signed him yet. Don't want to poop on the parade
