All Southgate did was point out that Kevin has benefited from the flexibility within the rules, a totally valid point. What he has to do with colonisation that happened long before he was born is beyond me. His anger should be directed towards the FAI, for trying to persuade young English boys to play for a country they have little to do with, and probably means very little to them. I mean how dare Gareth try and persuade an Englishman, who was produced by an English club, to play for England!!! What a scandal. Only Irish born players should play for Ireland, not Englishman that aren't sure they are good enough to play for England. I've heard they are trying to persuade Nathan Redmond to play for Ireland to, he's about as Irish as the Queen. And Patrick Bamford too. What a shambles. Declan Rice's parents were born in England. Declan Rice was born in England. His mother is English. I don't see why there is a debate. Ireland should've never approached him in the first place. They always take advantage of a rule that someone can play for the country of their grandparents and then complain when that player actually wants to play for the country of his birth.
