We need to draft Karlaftis. 99% Hutchinson and Thibodeaux won't be there so we need to draft Karlaftis. Underrated cut aswell today, we released Sharrod Neasman. Was starting at safety for a bit and made some nice play. The best of luck to him in his future.

Not sure how this carryover jumped up from 3 million to 13 million. Would hope that Lawson being,cut, would mean that a couple of Jets get immediately extended, Foley perhaps, before they pack their bags

I strongly believe we should target Allen Robinson he would be a perfect WR1 side with Corey Davis, Elijah Moore and other. Another big free agent I believe is JC Jackson would be a great pick up that would help our team in so many ways. The last one IF he is available is Brandon Scherff Guard from Washington, this would absolutely be some guys I'd definitely target and do whatever it takes to get. Plus you have to add to that 2 first 2 seconds and our JETS will look a lot different and that would be very exciting and fun for 2022. The way this draft is shaking out at the top, if one team, Jags, Lions, Texans, takes a QB or CB the Jets are in business.
(Obviously Jags will not take a QB).
That will drop 1 of the edge rushers (Hutch & Thib) or the best Olineman in this draft (Neal) to the Jets.
That's a win, win.
Neal protects Zach from a Mekhi Becton failure (Can we really count on this guy?).
Normally I wouldn't go Oline that high, but we have 3 more picks in the top 40! Including hopefully #7.
Ojabu or Karlaftis will be there at #7 I believe.
You come out of this drafts 1st round with the best Olineman, and a top 3 pass rusher, that's a helluva start to your draft!
Also, because you have 9 picks, and a lot of cap money, JD could decide to target another top player that falls in the 1st round. Maybe a WR, LB or CB?
Trading up for AVT was great, trading BACK for Mims sucked so maybe he learned his lesson there!
We traded up for Revis too, so maybe QUALITY over QUANTITY is the smartest move?
In free agency I would target LB, Safety i.e. Haason Riddick at LB, and Marcus Williams, Bates or Justin Reid.
That's just 2 guys that fills needs & we'll have probably over 60 million to start so there are more moves to be had.

I think Shaq Lawson is just done…I seem to be in the minority in thinking edge is not the burning need other people think. We do need to upgrade edge, but the issue with the Jets defense is not edge as much as we are completely soft up the middle. We need to fix this. JFM is better at 3 technique than at edge. We need sort of very stout nose tackle like guy who can also play at 3 technique to shore up the middle, and have JFM bounce between 3 and edge depending on situation with Kyle Phillips rotating. After that the Jets need linebackers with speed that can cover and rush the passer like Nakobe Dean who the Jets should find a way to target. In terms of the draft I am not taking a risky first round edge selection until the middle is fixed and we have linebackers that can cover. If you don't have coverage, then EDGE will have no success at all. Past that, WR and TE and even OL are more important than edge.
Do we take Hutchinson or Thibodeaux if they drop? Maybe, but if they don't I am not sure we go Karlaftis of Ojabo. CB is NOT a big need in the first round for the Jets in any year, but I could see them convincing themselves of Hamliton as safety is key to the Pete Carroll type of defense.
In the terms of the draft here are my priorities: Weapons for Zach>Protection for Zach>Defensive middle>=Linebacker>=safety>EDGE
Ryan the Jets have to finish a task. I think FA and resigning for less is best, next focusing on defense secondary back to back in the first round is the best depending on the run of QBs this could lead us to gather picks (which I’d trade up in the second bc quality over quantity of draft picks).
Y ? A couple of days before he played the team that drafted him , he might have been movtivated to play better and against Josh Allen. You need all the pass rush you can get
