In the interview he said he put a lot of "focus' on the ball, would love to know if there is a different meaning in japaneese, but it was so good, he kept his eye on the ball and as even the commentator said later that the just took the pace off the ball. I am from Indian and play Cricket, there is a concept of "timing' where the ball hits the bat but the batter has to "time" it well to get maximum result, same way all his first touches , kicks and even the jump and the technique of the header all seem perfect. I feel he was already really good before but really learnt everything well at university, shows in the header technique.
