  2. The greatest Portuguese CB ever & what an impressive CV Porto,Chelsea,Real Madrid & got a medal with his nation. Top defender, top man👍 funny I met him once at Heathrow airport & nearly gave him a parking ticket for leaving his car unattended 😅

  3. This one I can't explain. Why is he not better remembered? Maybe because he was shy and didn't enjoy the spotlight or interviews….but to this day I think the emotional memory people have of him still undersells him. One of the few CBs i actually ENJOYED watching.

  4. He was fast when he need to be, elusive, technical tackles and covered a loooot of ground! Played good with a ball in his feet, and carried a complete baggage of tricks; one of the greatest technical defenders I ever saw. Reminds a lot of Nesta.

  5. Grande jogador melhores centrais da minha memória de nível mundial técnica visão de jogo central muito completo e faz lembrar o baresi melhor central Português

  6. He was so reliable as a CB should be. Most top CBs dont leave you questiong their decisions 90% of the time, with Carvalho it was 99%. He and JT were possibly my fav CB duo of all time.

  7. The best portuguese defender ever! Pepe is great too and more strong..but Carvalho is very inteligent and fast..He had a unique positional sense in the history of football….he played the ball in 99% of the moves and not the opponents' legs.

  8. Objectively part of the greatest defence in premier league history, perhaps all time.

15 goals conceded in a 38 game season will likely never be bettered.

Cech, Terry, Carvalho and Makelele. Has there ever been a quartet that denied more goals? Ever?
