53 years ago 1969. We rarely get to see and early Gorilla Monsoon but here it is. Enjoy
Giant Baba moves very well
In English a classic match of cool wrestling ie pc sucks
Had no clue Gorilla was that mobile. That chop over the rope spot is not easy to pull off…everything about it was executed to perfection
Monsoon seems a bigger Nick Frost

Wow this is a young Monsoon
Just dumbfounded that I only stumbled about this channel recently. Even more dumbfounded at the existence of this material and most of all the quality. The thought of what else might be uncovered from some unknown vaults.
Having only seen (and loved) Monsoon as a stick man or other official back in the day, it's amazing to see what he was all about in his prime. Reminds me of Vader or Bam Bam Bigelow, two other very athletic big men walking in his footsteps. R.I.P., Gorilla, R.I.P. Baba.
He was captured naked in China and rarely wore clothes outside the ring.
I liked this. My first time seeing Monsoon or Baba at/near their peak.
Monsoon was like the Vader of his day; the incident in the 90s makes more sense when you factor that in. It would have been interesting had Gorilla managed Vader leading to a betrayal. But, if 'what if's were an ocean we'd all be fish
A classic Gorilla Monsoon in 1969. Where are the Bruno Sammartino vs Gorilla Monsoon matches of the 1960s
The way Giant Baba was built was just weird. Looked like they took legs and arms from a small skinny person and sewed them onto a giant torso.😂
colossal titan!
Monsoon should have paid tribute to Baba by blading
This is priceless, thank you! Giant Baba was quite a character too!
Quite extraordinary realizing from now on, that Gorilla Monsoon was not just only a commentator for the WWF…
Wow, Monsoon could really move! This is probably the earliest of his matches I have ever seen!
They died on the same years.1999.RIP to them 🙏❤😢
Back when it wasn't rare for people to believe wrestling wasn't scripted and predetermined
It's well known that in Japan, American wrestlers were pressured to let the other look better and often allow them the win. If they didn't, it wasn't long until the bookings went down and there were attempts to get even by hooking as well. A fair match seldom took place, although this may of been the same with foreign wrestlers in the states. In spite of that, it was good money. Regardless, it sure didn't appear that Baba planned on being pinned here. For some reason, many of these matches are still available in the U. S. but not very many American events with the old timers, and that's a shame.
Was Monkey Monsoon with Red Berry as manager.
Monsoon did calisthenics in the kitchen.
thanks for these uploads!
WWE should of made a DVD best of gorilla monsoon matches
Legendary footage. Giant Baba had the thinniest weakling arms for a giant man
God. Baba was fucking awful in the ring and japanese wrestling from this era is fucking unwatchable.
I met Gorilla at Lewis's Bistro & Delicatessen in San Francisco. He was a horrible tipper.
Little known fact: Comedian Freddy Lewis briefly went by the name “Giant Lala”. xoxo The Clarences
