I member watching her when i was younger and a commentator said the judges won't give her a higher score due to them not liking her body type. This was when she lost to nastia. Is that really true? Shawn has always been my absolute favorite gymnast ever!!! I love her so much
I admire her professionalism. She doesn't act up when she makes a mistake or loses. She embraces competitors with a genuine smile and hug. And when she wins, she is humble, yet proud. Such an example. Thanks to Chow who showed her how to be a true champion.

I have never seen this video – great compilation of Shawn's events. I think if the Olympics had been in 2007 & not 2008 she would have walked away with at least 4 (all around, beam, vault & floor) if not 5 gold medals. I adore Shawn – she is a complete human being. I love her, Aly Raisman & now Suni Lee – admire the heck out of Simone of course & so many other greats both American & not American. Amazing people.
every single time i look back at Shawn’s bar routine, it absolutely KILLS me how she was literally perfection in terms or cleanliness/execution (maybe not in terms of flexible type styled line as Nastia) and all she had to do was add more releases and extra stuff for bonuses and she would’ve surpassed soooooo many
