The USMNT has a pile of MLS players who are only on the roster for obvious reasons of promoting the domestic league. Shaq Moore however did play in Europe which is more than we can say about Kellyn Acosta and several similarly old or older career MLS players that were shoved onto the roster.
Edit: That being said, Shaq Moore's not particularly good although good enough to have played for a lower table Levante in La Liga for 6 games and in the Segunda Division of Spain for Tenerife significantly more than that. The problem is most of those MLS guys are backups. Another example is Reggie Cannon's terrible MLS corpse.
