  1. If Vin was on the radio, and I'm watching the game on TV, I always turned the volume down on the TV. His voice and story telling was ALWAYS captivating. Never a dull moment.

  2. This is what is scary–to me. When I first listened to Scully (and the great Jerry Doggett), Vin was a young man of 35. Dodger Stadium was brand new. Joe Moeller was a 19 year old kid (now he's 79). Yikes! I guess the moral of the story is that Father Time takes no prisoners. Anyway, I don't really feel sad. I know Vin wouldn't want us to. Talk about living a full life! He lived a life and a half.

  3. Obviously it's near impossible to pick just one Vin Scully moment as a favorite because he has so many from which to choose, but if I have to pick just one it would have to be "In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened!" There's not another broadcaster ever that could have come up with that comment. EVER!!!!!

  4. I remember as a five year old boy I didn't even care about baseball yet but I still wanted to sit at the TV with my Dad and listen to Vin Scully talk! That's how much of an impact he had on baseball and I can't imagine anyone will ever hold a candle to how good he was!

  5. Back in the 70's, when I was a kid, Vinny's voice would echo around the stadium during the game from all the radios in the stands. He was the best teacher. He will be missed.

  6. For me, favorite memory was just going to bed with the little radio under my pillow and letting Vin Scully slowly lull me to sleep.
