It’s not that modern footballers couldn’t survive in that era it is just that those things are no longer allowed (they aren’t even legal). You cannot tackle like that a be a pro footballer anymore and frankly those dirty challenges show a complete lack of respect for your fellow professionals and when talking about those stamping 2-footers that is cowardly behaviour, instead of going in fairly for a 50-50 challenge where it is possible for either player to get hurt those studs up knee locked lunges can only ever result in injury for your opponent while keeping you safe (except for your reputation)
