Shawn's only 20. She's already accomplished more than most people would ever will. I don't think her retirement is a bad thing at all. It only marks the beginning of a new life that I'm sure she would succeed like the way she did with gymnastic.
I will terribly miss her!! but she has to do what's the best for her health!!
she inspired me and so many other people, and she has been a great role model! always smiling, and just being great!! gymnastics will never be the same without her!

I was looking forward to watching you during the London Olympics, but I'm sure you chose what was best. 20 minutes ago I was watching you on youtube and seriously was looking for videos of when you were little to inspire me more and then I heard…. You made the USA Proud :')
I'm not a big fan of Shawn but this is still terrible. After so many years seeing her compete it's sad knowing that we won't see her competing anymore. She will be missed!
Honestly I started crying when usa gymnastics tweeted about it today. She was an awesome gymnast and she will be deeply missed!! :"( :"( :"( I LOVVE U SHAWN JOHNSON
i will miss her sooo much.. She is my role model. she helped me decide i wanted to stay and not quit when times where tough. And im not quitting now!!!

its so sad. US is loosing a true fighter. too bad she couldnt just stay untilll after the summer , and i could have seen her in the beam final. was counting on her to be there

OmG she will always and forever be my idol in gymnastics! shes the best!
i am from germany and she is my biggest role model. I will never forgot her. She is the best gymnast in the world and will ever by that
