I was there at that game. Big Reds fan, but an amazing catch. Also, Pujols hit a home run and I'll never forget the sound of that ball off the bat. The best swing I've ever seen.
To everyone who thinks Edmonds belongs in the HOF, take a look at his career numbers.
Less than 2,000 hits and less than 400 HRs…so not a hit machine or a homer machine.
He made 4 All-Star games…not a big number.
He never was in serious contention for a MVP…the majority of the time he wasn't the best player on his own team.
8 Gold Gloves is good but it's not enough to overcome his other short comings.
If this were the NBA HOF or NFL then he might get in, but the MLB HOF is very exclusive.
Edmonds is Hall of Good.

Nobody and I mean nobody else catches the ball there except for Jimmy.
This is just one of the many highlights of Jim Edmonds' amazing career. Yes, he may not have hit all the milestones to "warrant" first ballot, but he's a HOF in a lot of Cardinals and Angels fans' eyes.
With Jim Edmonds and Andruw Jones playing hands down the best center field in modern era baseball there was only one outfield gold glove spot up for grabs for a while 😂
