Things that make you go hmm
No. I think Marshall has been great for us since he joined. Dieng should now train hard and wait for his chance.
Seny straight back in. Marshall will still be important in the dressing room and is too experienced to throw his toys out of the pram. Seny could grow frustrated if he loses his place though no fault of his own and we don't need that possibility in the dressing room. He'll be well aware that he'll have to keep up his good form to keep his place now which will only help him.
Loving the more consistent content
I'm divided, I think Marshall has been awesome, but it's Senys position which he needs to keep
There's a new Marshall in town. Keep him in. It's a tough choice but Marshall has done well since he has joined our band of brothers. Momentum is key. I'm sure Seny will understand, but going to that Micky Mouse tournament has consequences.
Marshall looks more confident and experienced and can manage the defense better than Dieng who might learn something from him. I would keep David as first choice.
Marshall getting that UK privilege from Warburton
Age has to be a big factor for me
Guy in the top left clearly doesn't know anything. Marshall is way better.
So Diengs other 20+ performances were apparently beaten by Marshalls 4 good performances? Stupid if you ask me
Marshall is match fit/tuned and has big game experience to draw on. Dieng’s been sat on his arse.
For me, Marshall stays put until he gives Warbs good reason to drop him.
If Dieng is dropped and we get promoted, he'll feel a deep sense of disconnection and some resentment and would probably want away. Dieng is the future, the asset, and had proved himself a top keeper. It was a great move to get Marshall but it was just temporary.
no. he has to fight for the position
Again no right or wrong answer but it does come down to form or the setup of the team due to the opponent, my feeling would be on form of the players even considering chair now do you play him instead of Amos playing himself into form?
What sort of message would it send out to drop a player bang in form for a favoured son?
Marshall would have been told on his arrival what his script was and he’s performed it well but he knew the situation when he accepted the gig, Bring Seny back in, Marshall’s new role would then be that constant reminder to Seny that if he makes mistakes we finally have someone well equipped and trusted to take over between the sticks.
All this talk about it not being fair for poor Dieng..it’s what’s best for the team, he will drop us at the drop of a hat if a bigger club came looking for him..for me we are on a roll, keep Marshall in!!
Don't see an argument here seny is qpr goalkeeper. And he's the number 1 until he has a bad patch. We'll done David . Now he'll have to keep his form up or David is waiting to step in
Marshall has done a great job in between the sticks for Rangers, but he was brought in as cover for Dieng and who's to say he wouldn't have done just as well or better than Marshall. Seny was doing great before AFCON and shouldn't be dropped just because the keeper that came in done well. Seny will of course know that any dip in form for the remainder of the season will result in Marshall getting the gig. Nice problem for Warburton to have though.
I’m a really big fan of Dieng and he is a massive asset to us and is the future. For now though I say Marshall keeps his place, his kicking isn’t the best but his organisation is excellent he doesn’t stop talking and organising the defence it seems. I think Dieng will learn a lot from him in that aspect and become even better
