  1. Is Ramsdale’s admission of having trouble keeping focus for 90 min kind of unusual? Idk what exactly his statement was, but what does he want- to be subbed off?

Using a sub on a GK feels like a waste, unless they’re injured or having a disastrous match

  2. He has chosen raya the only reason people are still talking about Ramsdale is because he is English and the media is biased mikel has made his choice (I’ll miss you ramsdale

  3. Brighton isn't a good example of this working, it makes both Steele and Verbruggen worse, we only do it to try and ease Verbruggen into the PL

  4. Brighton fan here, while it may seem that Steele and Verbruggen both playing games works quite well, in reality like 90% of our fanbase would rather see Verbruggen start all games (except carabao cup and all that) than rotation with him and Steele, because Verbruggen has much better shot stopping.

  5. really wish Arteta would rotate his keepers. it defo is a lot more complicated than that, but I just miss Ramsdale…

  6. I honestly think this is the future of modern football. Changing players and positions based on your opponent has been a staple of football tactics for decades.
The modern goalie needs to do everything: passing, distributing, saving.
But these players are rare. Changing your keeper based on your opponent can change how your entire team approaches a game.
    Play to your players strengths

  7. How did no one think of this thats genius for keepers that have differing playstyles and strengths, that are both still good in their own right. This gives both of them plenty of playtime and gives the manager more choices

  8. its a sensible approach to get both keepers in game time, which is what i would also do in Football Manager. This way, both keepers' match fitness are tiptop without having the jittery vibes to them

  9. Ramsdale has played away from home 4 times this season, conceded 4 goals, and never looked remotely convincing. Raya is the #1

  10. That sounds very good in theory but in my opinion wouldn't get a significant positive result, if positive at all.
Roles like the goalkeeper need to be a secure and central points in the team. Rotating them is not ideal as all of the squad relies on knowing at all times that they can do a certain thing without thinking too much about it. As an example, in a highly difficult situation a CB might be more inclined to pass to Raya but not so much to pass to Ramsdale. In the heat of a professional match, the fraction of second that takes to evaluate this added variable might be the difference between a mistake or not. And a mistake at that level can cost a lot.

Also goalkeepers need the stability of certainty that they are going to start no matter what. In a role where a single bad play can cost you the entire game, you need to take off as much psychological pressure as you can off them.

In my opinion, if Ramsdale said that he has trouble focusing for all 90 minutes, it's better to either solve this problem in some way and keep him starting every game he feels comfortable starting, with Raya filling the blanks; or simply always starting with Raya and keep Ramsdale as a backup.

There's a reason why even top clubs who could have two world class goalkeepers always have one fixed and a couple of backups, and the reason it's simply that it works. Switching might have some upsides but in my opinion adds another layer of pressure on top of the players and managers in an environment already full of pressures.

But that's just my opinion, I'd love to hear what you of tifo think about it

  11. Ramsdale can’t concentrate for 90mins, said so himself, shouldn’t be no where near a club trying to win titles.

  12. Someone get Aaron Ramsdale some adderall for the games lol!!!!!! 💕🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

And also please inform him (if he doesn’t already know lol) he likely has adhd lol. (we can all usually recognize one of us— esp if you’re undiagnosed and/or unmedicated/untreated lol) and possibly being evaluated for that could allow for some really, really helpful (sometimes life-changing and/or career-saving) and effective counseling or CBT/DBT therapy to help with the everyday strategies and management of the likely several various experiences like not being able to pay attention for the entire 90 minutes of the game while you are playing on the pitch, that are experiences that are SUPER common (relatively speaking) and instances of the symptoms (of adhd) being a noticeable and unfortunately significant, inhibiting part of your everyday/career-related life. (Sorry so long I obv got carried away there and I think this is a pretty good sign that MY adhd meds are completely wearing off too!!!!!! lolololol 🤣🤣🤣🤣💕🤷🏻‍♀️)
