I must confess that, silently, I had my doubts about swopping Ramsdale for Raya. I was not fully satisfied with the former, but I knew very little about Raya. I harboured feelings that the move was based on nationalistic reasons.
However, I trusted the process, since I already had high ratings for our Arsenal coach, Arteta, and further I felt that no coach worth his salt would put their career on the line for simplistic reasons as a countryman, for marginal gain.
I can see clearly now, someone said, the rain has gone (with apologies to Johnny Nash).
Raya is a proven obstacle in every forward's way, with superb distribution and brilliant saves.
Our player of the season so far imo. We would've conceded far more if it weren't for raya.
