  1. one of the few players who played well, along w/ joel sonora(who will probably end up playing with argentina after this loss) and rubio rubin

  2. These kids will get a chance to redeem themselves in 2 years. They look on to their u20 counterparts for aspiration as for the olympics as well.

  3. Missing the early chances was huge… USA goes up 1-0 in the first ten minutes and it is a completely different game. Honestly I never liked Ritchie Williams as a player, and I am not at all surprised he ended the U-17 World Cup streak. We go with all these vanilla coaches at the youth levels and they suck the creativity out of the kids. Ritchie Williams made a career out of ankle biting and kissing butt, he was Bruce Arena's little pet player and never really added a thing to the USMNT.

  4. You can listen to Richie talk for 10 seconds and tell he needs to be demoted. Maybe he is in this role as a developmental coach, more of a trainer role, but the US was not outplayed from the video I watched.

  5. And if he is in there as developmental coach, then he should STILL be demoted. Telling these kids they were outplayed is lying to them. Its clear by the kids responses that Richie has given them the "Don't worry. We'll get them next time." There is no "next time", Richie. Let them feel the pain of losing. Once they embrace it, that is when they will grow. Soft.

  6. There is a "next time" for players as young as they are. Maybe not at the U-17 level, but there is indeed a "next time" for every one of them. And I don't see where their coach said they were outplayed; he actually talked as though they weren't.

  7. JEFF KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. America is behind you bro, and we know you'll use this disappointment to become a better keeper than you ever were before.
