I’m worried for Dest because Xavi likes to have the RB tuck in the midfield, and I thought he wouldn’t have Dest do this but he did. It really doesn’t work for his skill set, they need to be treating him more like Alba and giving him space to bomb up the field. Problem is, Traore is occupying that space now, and he’s been very good, so I’m not sure how that’s gonna work. He has the EL games and one more league game to impress with Alves out, because he needs to do more. He’s been fine, not good, not bad. Has some good defensive moments but isn’t getting involved in the attack at all
Pulisic was tremendous in the cup game, dynamic as we know he can be. His dead balls were tremendous, Chelsea should have done better with his corners particularly. A lot of USA fans seem disappointed in him, but we need him. He HAS to play for us. The problem with Brooks is his passing. He's tough on the tackle. great in the air, and doesn't get muscled off the ball, but his passing is woeful. Defenders have to distribute, they have to find the pass. 55% accuracy and less than half of his long balls finding a teammate are both pretty bad.
If Pefok keeps scoring…Gregg HAS to bring him in.

I've been pretty high on CCV all season, but I've got to admit that in the last week he didn't have a great match against Christian Ramirez's Aberdeen or Raith Rovers. Against Raith, he could (should?) have been carded for a handball in box and a penalty given. And, while he's considered Celtic's best CB, the Hoops are getting Christopher Jullien back from injury. The young French international will certainly make for good competition along Celtic's back line.
Speaking of Ramirez, I completely understand that people don't rate him highly. However, right now the US needs a forward who is in-form and aggressive. That's how Ramirez is playing. There's no way he gets into the March qualifying window, but if he keeps playing like this – AND our other choices (excepting Pefok) keep playing the way they're playing – then why not have him in the squad. What's to lose? At this point I'd rather have a 31-year-old who's finding the back of the net than a 20something-year-old who's got lots of promise but nothing to show for it.
