He probably knew he had to try much harder to stay in athletico madrid but took the easy way ! As long as you get money from new club and as long as you know that your spot in team Melli in untouchable that’s what they would do and we know many other Iranian players who went down the same path before and after him!
the guy can play were ever he wants he doesn't need your approval, the guy wasn't good enough to play for top clubs but he's done more for his country then you ever could, just appreciate what they gave us
