Reminds me of the 19 years old David de Gea. Doesn't catch the ball properly, lets the ball spillage go in front of him for other attackers to possibly score from rebound, but he uses his legs properly and already has strong arms and good reflex in him. With a proper GK coach, this guy can go places. Liverpool probably should also change their GK coach, a proper GK coach who has coached a world class GK in the past.
I think Liverpool should keep Karius. I have a feeling he'll go on to be a world-class keeper and I'd hate to think he was doing it in someone else's colours… [:o)
one thing I notice about Pope is he has very good positioning with his footwork. He is also very calm and in control. He's not flashy or extra special but he does seem to make saves look easier than others and mistake free. Karius had 3.. 2 of them were in the final. Good stat has 0 errors that has lead to goals.
Before I really didn’t want to sign this guy and Ik montages can make anyone look good but I think I do kind of rate him now. Would still prefer Allison, Oblak or even Donnarumma but wouldn’t be the end of the world with this guy. He’s still young and has shown he can hack the bpl.
I like him, he's very good but his punches are sometimes directed back to the defense for final clearance, Liverpool playing a high line, it might be difficult for a defender to do the final clearance unlike a more compact Burnley whose defense is always available to clear finally. That's my main concern about Pope
