  1. Boling tied up pretty good that final 50m or so. He did get his 1st open sub 45.00 seconds though. Hudson Smith @ 1/2 sec of his PR (Euro record)

  2. Boling looked like tying up but great race for him He continues. to get stronger in 400s but still needs a lot of work He'll get better in conditioning with more 400s

  3. Good start to the season for Matthew Hudson-Smith who actually won the race but how did Matthew Boling ‘dominate’ this race and finish second as stated in the video title?

  4. He has to learn how to run relaxed. Rarely can I recall a runner of his caliber with a more strained face, neck, and arms regardless of the distance he is running. That will equate to a few tenths in the 400m.

  5. Looking forward to seeing the 16 year old Quincy Wilson compete at The USA Track & Field Olympic trials in the 400 meters.

  6. So Matthew Boling breaks 45 seconds and all you people do is bitch about the video description? At this point it really can't be about anything but racism.

  7. dominating second………lol…….nowhere near an olympic medal chance. Really he should retire, he's a good athlete and a real trier, but he will never be elite, shame to work that hard and never being good enough to make it in the big league

  8. Bolin is missing that last 100m surge. He needs to go somewhere and do some serious altitude training. Look at Nikki Hiltz in her race against Mu when she trained at altitude. Purrier did the same thing when she plateaued and also got results. Ingebrigtsen also does it in Spain. It's a next level commitment but needed.

  9. He may have gone out too fast but I'm not sure he could have run much better even if he was more balanced in the 200m splits. Sub 45 is a good sign. You're not serious until you can do that. You're not world class until you get close to breaking 44. I think he can do it but it's not going to be easy (and will probably take years).

  10. This video title needs to be corrected. It doesn't make sense the way it is written, as it states Boling dominated the race. It turns out it is the same Boling we have seen for the past several seasons not living up to the hype he used to have for every race. Does anyone know if there is an issue with Boling getting a good coach? He has changed coaches over the past couple of years, but he has never learned how to actually sprint at the top level of the sport.

  11. Only tough guys need apply. You may be able to 10 k or 20 k every day, but if you want to feel true pain, run 400 at top speed. Muscles melt.

  12. Boling is 24. Has pretty much topped out. He's a great runner but likely won't be much faster. He'll do decently in the Diamond league races for the next couple years but no national team. America is too stacked. He is probably better off concentrating on the long jump but its not an event that brings in sponsorship money as much as sprints.
