Nah Gio has to play in the middle. So creative. Pulisic is best off the wing where he can run at players and then cut in and shoot.
Reyna and Pefok (assuming healthy) should be locks for Qatar. Same with Sargent.

Zardes is one of Berhalters favorites and Dike can easily take that roster spot. Thats why Dike doesn't get a lot of time.
Whether he’s good enough is irrelevant; Berhalter is too stupid to use him (or most of their players) to the best of their capability.
Probably play Zardesinho again.
A better question and one based more in reality is Zardes better than Gio Reyna?
Pefok must be on the roster. He has been tearing it up for Young Boys and even scoring goals in the Champions League.
Berhalter continues to show he's a chump with favorites and a theory, not a quality coach who should be in charge of a national team.
I'm not sold on Pefok just because outside of the champions league games last year, he's not playing against very high competition. That league is probably weaker than MLS. I think Sargent or Dike would be scoring in bunches if they were in his spot.
I would play a 4 4 2, put Reyna at the 10 in the midfield, and play Pulisic and Weah up top with no true center forward. Gets our best players on the field with space to work.

I have a hard time imagining Weah out of the first 11. He might be the most consistent performer in our front 6 in the entire Octagonal. Although McKennie has also been great. If we want to work the ball wide and send in crosses, we need Weah in there. Maybe Gio can do that too, but that still puts all of the crossing responsibility on one guy.
I think they need to look at Gio at the 8 in place of Musah. Otherwise he needs to come off the bench or start ahead of Pulisic on the other wing.

My ideal starting 11 would be turner, a Robinson, dest, brooks, Richards, midfield would be adams, mckennie, Reyna, with pepi, pulisic, and weah up front

It’s simple. Play McKennie and Reyna in the midfield with Pulisic and Weah on the wings. Then you can have your best players on the field together. 👍

Gio can probably start at cam or rcm for the national team. And pefok should be our undisputed starting striker as well.
Zardes needs to be on the bench. Bring him in only if there's an injury and we need a warm body on the pitch. Either way he won't be accomplishing much.
