The 2025/26 Season will go up for MANUTD. Especially as they are down already.
Considering what I have seen and the current underlying issues and on-going intent the following will be my opinion.
MANUTD needs
1. Identity: A Clear Tactical Philosophy
Amorim’s arrival means United will finally play with cohesive tactical identity for the first time in years: this is already showing and is intentional.
I also expect a 3-4-3 (continued) base with controlled buildup from the back. High, organized pressing—not chaos. Structured positional play with fluid attacking rotations.
This will take a few months to gel but fans will see a recognisable pattern of play emerge.
On Personnel overhaul, being getting the right players for his system. Amorim is already reshaping the squad:
• Joshua Zirkzee or Cunha as the roaming striker/false nine.
• Ball-playing defenders to suit the back three.
• Aggressive, tireless wingbacks are key. (Grilish cant okay this role, Mancity plays fluid game. He stops that fluidity with his holding ball play at edge of 18 box.)
Expect more signings that fit his system, and possible exits for players who don’t (e.g., Maguire, if he can’t handle the high line or passing demands), surprise right?
3. Young Talent Will Shine
Amorim loves developing youth at Sporting, he trusted 18–21-year-olds consistently.
• Kobbie, Chido, (Garnacho – if he remains ) and Amad Diallo could become permanent starters under him, Chido will get into the groove at a later stage.
• Academy players with tactical discipline will be promoted.
4. Defensive Solidity but Growing Pains
United will:
• Defend with a back five when needed. The system Amorim plays allows for major 3/4 dimensions or player layout.
• Transition quickly to attack, but early mistakes will happen.
• Likely drop points early in the season as players adjust to the pressing and buildup demands.
5. Big Games: No More Passive United here.m be assured Amorim thrives in top clashes—he’s beaten Porto and Benfica consistently in Portugal. In as much as the Portuguese league is not at the same level as the EPL, Amorim will grow fast into it. So we expect a bold approach at Anfield, Etihad, Arsenal etc.
• United may lose a few by high margins early, but once the system clicks, they’ll start dominating transitions and pressing moments.
Prediction: Where Will They Finish?
Premier League: Likely 4th or 5th (Champions League return very possible).
FA Cup / Carabao Cup: Strong run; Amorim values knockout formats he loves it
Associated Risks
Time: United must resist sacking him early if results wobble. His system needs 6–9 months to mature.
Transfers: If United’s board can’t deliver Amorim’s targets, the system may underperform.
Player resistance: Veterans must adapt or move on—Amorim doesn’t tolerate tactical indiscipline.
Bottom Line: United in 25/26
A rebirth in style and identity—but not an overnight fix. Expect a smarter, bolder, hungrier United with long-term potential under Amorim.”
Those speculation on those players can't revive that team that's my take
