I was not impressed by KDF at the U20 World Cup. Seemed very raw and one-dimensional. Has he improved enough to actually get minutes at Marseille?
Also apparently Mexico is going to bring the same squad from nations league. At least that’s what I heard. I would kinda understand why, they are on a hot seat.

The Gold Cup truly is a pre-test for our B team squad and hugely important before the ''final exams'' of actual WCQ matches. Country definitely comes before club every time in my book. The Gold Cup also can be viewed as an amplified pre-season with country and should come way before any pre-season with club. If we don't take this opportunity to identify & test talent it will come back to bit us in WCQ matches, when our depth will be called upon. Remember qualifying will be intense with 3 games in under 1 week each month. Additionally only 3 teams will make it out of WCQ, 4th place has to play inter-continental against another region. So lets go win the Gold Cup and in the process find some gems down in depth!

It should be an u23 roster, or primarily u23 roster. We need to get those guys tournament experience early, that was what the Olympics was for until Kries shit the bed.

My gold cup roster
GK: Horvath* (only if he stays at brujas, if he moves to another club would he keep him in Europe to become a starting player), Ochoa, Turner
CB: Miazga* (only if he stays at anderlecht) or Ream, EPB, CCV* (only if he stays at bournemouth) or Che, Robinson
FB: Bello, Jonathan Gomez (I don't really believe that's he is as good enough as people say, but we will have to see him), Araujo, Reynolds* (i think it's better for him to stay at Roma to do preseason)
M: Otasowie* (same case as CCV, Miazga, etc) or Acosta or Sands, Busio, Clark, Green, dela Torre, Cardoso and Bradley (I'd like to see him with this generation and he knows how to play with the Concacaf's teams)
W: KDLF* (only if he stays at Barcelona) or Arriola, Llanez or Mueller and Gooch
FW: Hoppe*, Dike* (only if both stay in their clubs if not, Soto, Akinola)

Ok , It makes total sense to get all these players you mentioned, but I can guarantee you We would lose and probably would not play well if we get all these players that have never played together. If we think long term, over a title in the Gold Cup, then let's call all these players you mentioned

i am from louisville j gomez is AMAZING i love watching him play for the club and would love to see him play for the US
I disagree, Bryan Reynolds needs to be at his club for training camp and I actually think this should be the case regardless of the age as long as the player is in a top 5 league. It gives them an opportunity to get a starting position which is so valuable to their development. While it'd be nice to know if a player works within our system at their current skill level It's a lot more beneficial for them to keep developing by getting the best opportunity to show they deserve playtime. I don't care if we lose casual fans, it won't prevent the USMNT from continually getting better. Plus they'll jump on the bandwagon as soon as the USMNT becomes more consistent at getting results.

Pete did you see the provisional roster for Curacao ? Multiple new players from PSV and Ajax, a number of talented lads like Timber, Bazoer, malacia, and others. They're not messing around.

The same debate goes on Canadian channels. Are Davies and David (plus other key players) absolutely necessary to have for Canada's GC team?
Pros: The team still needs to gel and so Canada having most of their elite players on the team for the GC while getting further time to gel is absolutely crucial prior to the WC Octagon matches starting in September.
Cons: David, Davies and other key players have already had a long season and need an off-season to rest and rejuvenate, i.e., so do we really want to burn them all out before September arrives?
Past History Lesson: Canada wins the GC in 2000 but almost 1-2 months later lose their opening game in the Hex at home to T&T, which literally almost kills their chances before WCQ even begins.
Anyway, my main point is these debates can be quite interesting regardless of which team you support in the Octagon.

I don't think it's fair to say Berhalter wouldn't like a creative and technical mid-fielder. This is a guy who with the first money he was given to build a team, paid $800,000 to bring in a Federico Higuaín who was pretty much all creative and technical mid-fielder. At least as I understand the system, there is supposed to be a Pipa like ball distributer at the #10.
As far as who you feel ought to be left off that you expect to see named and who presumably wasn't at the Gold Cup, that would be names like Sam Vines, Reggie Canon, and Ulysses Yanez?

If the host country for the Gold cup is the U.S., then why are all the games scheduled late at night. It appears that CONCACAF IS endeavoring to cater to FIFA and the European nations. It just happens that when Mexico hits the field at 10PM CDT it is 5 am in Spain. Coincidental?

This is what I hate about American fans in general, regardless of sport. If their team does poorly then they lose interest. If you are a fan of a team, whether it be basketball or soccer then you support your team/club through good and bad times, ALWAYS!
