  1. Here we go again from the media. Leeds are back; Let’s start the hatred campaign… They and their fans are a threat to us all up here in the PL….

Look we’ve got to be careful on here (the internet) with this Rio Ferdinand news, that we don’t awake the worst extreme elements in and around our club’s infrastructure. This sounds like fake news developed to start diverting the recent successes within our club.

It has not been explained or shown in full what circumstances Rio sang any of the alleged song or songs and in what capacity. He is a TV and media pundit working on many European games. Was he innocently singing or paraphrasing a Galatasaray song as part of a match he was working on in Turkey? None of this has been explained in full on here -by what I regard as a very good, decent and honest Leeds United YouTube information channel!!

Also, there is a massive group of true Leeds United supporters who still hold Rio in the highest of regards for what he did here in a Leeds United shirt. For those too young or who do not know…!!
Rio did not ask for a transfer away from Leeds United. He was more than happy at Leeds United. The team he was in had finally caught up to both Arsenal and Manchester United in squad strength and ability. Alex Fergusson stated many times that David O’Leary had three of the best centre backs in the world in one team (Radebe, Ferdinand and Woodgate).

Radebe (viewed as the best) was a constant target from Fergusson. However, Radebe refused to even answer the phone when told by Leeds directors behind O’Leary’s back to speak to Sir Alex. Woodgate in that period was injured and barely played for weeks sometimes months. Meanwhile the directors at the club knowing that there was high retail value in the Leeds defence, ordered Rio to speak to Manchester United. The Leeds directors basically forced Rio out of the club for money. That is FACT!!

The strangeness of this is -is that Eric Cantona was treated the exact same way and so was Alan Smith.

So if and when Rio turns up at Elland Road next season. Let’s do what we Leeds fans do best and show some class. Remember…The directors got rid of him; he did not ask for a transfer…….

  2. The transfer window opens up soon enough, then we can see who to trust in all these rumours Ger! It's a shame we can't transfer ex players/pundits and their big mouths! If Everton don't keep Harrison, who else would want a turn coat, who thinks he has a right to play top level football even though he was part of team that got relegated?

  3. I was about to say that Harrison's value is wrong because the PSR now says book value amortization is limited to the first five years after signing with a club, but Harrison had his contract extended before that rule was introduced (to prevent clubs from handing out ridiculously long contracts to limit their PSR losses in any particular year), and the new limit wasn't applied to existing contracts.

Either way, Harrison's wages are the bigger problem — £4.6 million per year now Leeds are back in the Premier League. That also has to be accounted for under PSR and thus limits what we can spend on new players unless we can sell him.

  4. The sale price for Harrison isn't the problem. It's the fact that he has three more years on his contract at £4.6 million/year if Leeds remain in the Premier League. The MLS isn't going to pay him that much, nor are any club outside the top tier.

The money is guaranteed, meaning unless Leeds can find a buyer who's willing to pay Harrison what he wants, they will have to pay him in full. We can offer him a buy-out but if it's less than the full amount of £13.8 million he's owed (if we stay up three years), he's not likely to take it, and anyway, our PSR spending would be reduced by that amount, significantly reducing our available budget for new signings.

  5. Good update Ger, I am sorry but we do not need average players from an average club, Moenchengladbach, again just because Farke likes them does not mean we get them, his judgement not that good

  6. He’s just booked himself into the hot seat but if any chants about his dead wife arise while he’s at ER then us Leeds fans will be in the papers and the club will probably get fined aswell but it’s nothing more than this rat deserves

  7. Is it not obvious that you would need individual experts for running the club and the recruitment strategy? Regardless, surely any individual operating as a director would have teams of experts fulfilling those roles anyway?? I reckon he's just talking sh again.

  8. Can he be banned from attending ER next season if he’s working with one of the major tv companies? He’s not be welcome that’s for sure

  9. Ferdinand only bothered about one United and it ain’t the White side…He’s a disgrace to LUFC…And I ain’t a Leeds or Manure fan….🤬🤬
