Jan Vertonghen is a beast, but last night was his poorest performance this season. Hopefully, Villas Boas will not put Dembélé on the wing and will play some other attacking player there since Bale and Lennon (the most important player) are out.

I'm stupid because I was a bit critical of him for one game, yet you agree that he had trouble? He and Dembélé are the signings of the season for Spurs, but you have to admit he had a bad game. He was at fault for Basel's second goal by heading it into the danger area. He was struggling in the middle at CB as well.
chances we will try and sign salah? i thought the whole team played well considering we was playing a good team and it was an even match they had more chances but we deserved the draw.

A world class player who signed with THFC with no idea who was going to be manager. With Ajax he won the domestic title. His natural position is sweeper who is very capable of bringing the ball up the pitch: as seen against MU in Old Trafford and last week at Swansea. Arse-nal wanted him to play midfield a position he could play but its not his natural position. It's no surprise Belgium is doing well in the WC Qualify. They've conceded 1 goal . Congrats Super-Jan!
