In order for this to coaching search to be real, Earney, Brian, and anyone else involved in this issue from start to finish should be gone. This should include Cindy Parlow-Cone since she is the one in charge overall. She wasn't there when GGG was hired but she has been there long enough to see how things are being run and make necessary changes.
I disagree that Berhalter should be sacked for what happened 31 years ago. I do think we need a new manager however due to Berhalter essentially reaching his peak with USMNT and the fact that he let the Gio Reyna situation continue with his "private" speech.
Punishing GB for a 31 yr old incident when he was 18 involving his now 25 year wife is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. He should be gone for disclosing locker room stuff publicly and not being that good at his job. The Reyna's should be banned from US Soccer for life. What cheap, low-blow, mudslinging. Despicable. For me he was finished when he constantly messed around with his lineup for the 2 years leading up to the WC, then when he was tactically inflexible at the WC that was the nail in his coffin. The rest of this drama with Reyna is an afterthought for me
Honestly, I don’t really care that much. Gio and his family have acted disgracefully, Berhalter is an adequate coach and nothing more and most importantly, the USMNT is just not very good and won’t be even when the WC is played here. I love football and am heartened by the notion that it’s increasingly more popular here in the US. It will NEVER achieve the status of Baseball, Basketball and American Football for a simple reason, Americans view it as a foreign sport. End of! Also, our best athletes don’t clamor to play soccer, they gravitate to the other major sports, and as a result we will, for the foreseeable future, be a middling team.
I use to be indifferent about GGG, but the amount of hate the fan base has for him from day one made be more and more sympathetic with GGG. I'm glad he benched Reyna and I'm glad he lead the team throughout this cycle to the dismay of the anti-GGG camp and watching them squirm in anger on social media LMAO. Y'all couldn't even give him credit for the positives. USMNT fan base has become more like the toxic Mexican fambase a no d their sports journalist. Garbage.
Beware, Jeff, Sebastian, and Gomez, anything in your closet you did in the past life that's not culturally accepted today you will be investigated. You are next, so I would be apprehensive for all of you! We live in a toxic culture and will be for the forcible future.
I doubt Gregg does come back but I do think it's possible. Who is taking the job? The next man who comes in would have the tall task of taking this team to the next level understanding that the 2026 world cup is massive for this country. You also have to navigate a Gold Cup, a Nation's League and PROBABLY a Copa America in the process and would be expected to win at least two of those trophies. And on top of all that US Soccer looks like a circus right now. Who wants to be responsible for all that right now? Gregg Berhalter is the only one we know of at the moment.

US Soccer should try and hire Albert Capellas….has worked in Barcelona, Denmark, and other countries. Great soccer mind and understands how European clubs achieved success. Unrealistic for US Soccer to be looking to hire people like Zidane, Deschamps, etc.
If they don't also can the people who were part of the passive aggressive attempt to go around the head coach, we'll end up right back here with a similar scandal in 4 years or so.
This paints US Soccer in bad light to any coach coming in. For one this is what entitled parents do in soccer which affects both the player and the team. The fact that parents of professional players who’s not a child are allowed to act like this and and betrayed relationships in childish way says a lot about US Soccer and no serious coach will overlook this. Like it or not Gio Reyna will hear about this for the rest of his career. All this best inner circle of friends in the federation need to seize for the betterment of the game and remind entitled parents that once your child is a profesional you need to stay in your lane. Ricardo Pepi was left out the team when he had been the best forward leading up to the WC but his parents didn’t call the federation to complain.
