  1. Definitely do. People need to remember that Larin was the reason we qualified in 2022 and as Jesse said, played for Canada Soccer when we were ranked in the 100s. Sure, he's past his prime but people act like he's been a shit striker for 5 years… Also, there's more to being a striker than scoring goals (especially in a Jesse Marsch system).

  2. I’m not surprised that Marsch doesn’t grant Wheels an interview. He is one of the most negative and critical voices in the Football press regarding Canadian Men’s team.

  3. I've been very patient with Larin but let's be honest – he's scored I think 1 goal post 2022 World Cup despite being a regular starter for Canada. THAT is simply WAY TOO LONG. Now if there were no other options, ok, but we have a plethora of striker options and the World Cup is 10 months away. And BTW, what the is value of that experience Larin offers when he can't even bury a penalty against Guatemala when it was badly needed? Let's be serious – any good striker buries penalty kicks. I think that was the last straw. For Canada to do well at next year's world cup, we need 2 goals per match. If some are not coming from your number 9, it's time for a new number 9!!

  4. Platt is right. Canada doesn't put teams away because they don't take even a reasonable % of their scoring chances. And the poster boy for that problem is Larin, followed by Tani… Throw in that Shaff is sub-par and Buchanan has bee asleep long before his injury, and IT IS TIME to start questioning the attacking line!

  5. Here is my take. Larin is well respect for his time he has put in with the Canadian National team (World Cup Qualifier). Here is the reality of Larin. HE IS NOT A STARTER ON THIS TEAM. This doesn't mean he cant be apart of the squad as a bench leadership role.

Most Canadian Soccer Supporters issue is we take our best goal scorer and play him in the 10 to shoe horn in Kyle Larin.

All this when we watch Promise David and Tani are in better form. Either play Tani or Promise at the 9 or move John David to the 9 and play an extra midfielder to protect our weakness which is our midfield. Most of the best teams in the world play with 3 midfielders. The media has got at our team because we struggle to score goals and thats because of the reasons I listed above. We need to stop beating around the issue and challenge Marsh why we cant play a mf 3 with the gaffers principles in high pressing etc and put John David closer in front of goal when he is our best goal scorer.

The gas slight needs to stop. Marsh can play his high pressing role with a mf 3 or play Promise or Tani at the 9 and keep John David at the 10.

Either or Larin shouldn't be a starter. Be apart of the squad but not a starter.

  6. Good question Wheels: What team NEEDS a Kyle Larin?? Let's rephrase that: What team NEEDS a striker who doesn't score? @JBUuser maybe can answer that question!

  7. Grow some cahones gentlemen. Larin hasn’t scored for country. And he hasn’t been fit at club either. The criticism is valid. Call it like it is!

  8. I just think that it's nonsense by Jesse. Stats don't lie. 1 goal in 20 games for Larin. Of course he'll get some criticism, it's normal.
The fact that Marsch rates Jebbison is scary. Daniel looks out of his depth, clueless on the pitch. He is still young , we need to be patient, but Jebbison isn't ready to play for the CANMNT now.
I like Marsch, he is great for the job, he is always positive, but my biggest concern with him is his rigid tactics.
Can Jesse adapt? Be more flexible? Jonathan David isn't a #10, he's a striker. Playing 2 men in midfield isn't sustainable against top opponents, even mediocre teams have started to figure out his system.
