I feel mitro as a false 9 and perez as a shadow striker, if rafa got it to work, would be an extremely lethal combination. But it's all said and done now, hope his career goes well. He gave us his all.
Didn't suit the system, it was clear he needed to go. Getting that money is a no brainer. Mitrovic fans seem to forget how many absolute sitters he missed.

I liked him always happy when he's on the pitch rather then gayle who I don't rate at all, gayle for me is a championship player whereas mitro is a premiership and world class player, but he's gone just need to find someone to replace him and bang in those goals for us and light up the stadium. Rafa gave Mitro a chance and clearly didn't trust him not to lose his temper and get sent off, with good reason. Ashley will be happy with the 9 mil profit from Mitro's purchase price. Let's hope the new strikers are better than Mitro, Gayle, and Joselu.
I'm a fan of Mitro, but he didn't suit Rafa system. Mitrovic is more suited to Fulham style of play with the likes of Sessegnon and Tom Cairney etc. Newcastle have to spend the Mitro money wisely on a decent striker who can get 10+ goals in the premier league. I wish Mitro all the best in the next chapter of his career and look forward to seeing him back at SJP as long as he doesn't net a goal or afew.

Good player but not a Rafa Benitez type player. Seems like the kind of guy who needs lots of attention from the manager (just not Rafa's style) and doesn't seem to have the discipline to play a Benitez system. From what I remember he missed a lot of simple chances for Newcastle too. Seems just a better fit for Fulham and their style of play. Still think he'll struggle a bit back in the Prem but he definitely had a good season in the Championship. I don't think Newcastle will miss him much.

I met mitrovic after Fulham won at Wembley playoff final, he said he would never play for that useless northern lot ever again , Fulham was where his heart was at.
mitro is a footballer that wants to play but if the systems not fitting its best to move on with respect.
look at england and southgate..and you see the roles sterlings does the gayle and perez or kane have the defenders split and an easier channel to shoot. its a good style for some but if you have 4-4-2 link up or the 4-3-3 you need the players. we are lucky richie wasent sold off or its u23s on the bench and bottom half of table in the trouble we had in decembre Weighed down by the ashley stone its the anchor that could sink the main business and leave the club marooned like a leeds.that frazer business.

Mitro was never a Premier League level striker. He had a good half season in the Championship for Fulham but I doubt he'll replicate that success in the Premier League. Rafa was right in his assessment.
