Well, the Wembley curse is well known amongst Sunderland fans – it lasted from the 1973 FA cup win to the 2021 Papa John's Cup win.
But there was a much more interesting one! In 1892, according to the story, a Gypsie man said to Jimmy Hannah (a Sunderland player) that Sunderland wouldn't win an English cup until a Scottish lady ascended to the English throne, which technically happened in 1936 – Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, the wife of George VI, was the daughter of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. Sunderland won an FA Cup in 1937.
Now, Sunderland always had strong Scottish ties. Their entire "team of all talents" squad in the 1890s was made of Scottish players.
The Aaron Ramsey one is absolutely hilarious! Not people dying, obviously (well, Bin Laden dying was funnt). Someone should make a horror film based on that with Ramsey as the villain.
I think the problem isn't the number 7. It's how easily United hands it out.
