So the gamekeeper went to the supermarket and someone saw his gun in the car and called the police??? I always have coats/towels etc in my car being a dog man ,so always cover my gun cases with them!Just goes to show how careful you have to be!!People don’t like shooters and will cause mischief If they can!! As asked previously which gun insurance company said he wasn’t covered ? as I am in BASC but have a third party to cover legal expenses which BASC dropped which was a mistake by them IMHO!!🧐🤔P.S.Well done Scott!!!👏👌
If he’s proven not guilty, do the police not have to pay all his expenses to appeal?
Glad that Scott got his guns back. You have to wonder what the shopper at Tesco was doing looking on the back seat of his truck. Not having legal cover is going to be a bigger and bigger problem as the police and Home Office over reach taking the "guidance" to extremes. Good lesson for everyone, keep everything fully out of sight in the car.
I'm going through the same thing at the moment. Its been ongoing since last October. Having to go to appeal to try and get my certificates back.
"Ancient hunters, I know a few of those." 😂 David's revenge.
Time for a move away from gun slips ? Maybe the return of gun cases
03:32 I’m new to shooting (PCP). Isn’t it irresponsible to go into a shop and leave a semi automatic shotgun in your vehicle? 🧐
personal, as soon as a copper opens his gob in any situation, that is when the problems start, they are just bully boys in fancy dress
13:10 sounds like a purposefully corrupt and dirty system where you are guilty unless you can afforx to prove your innocence… because that is exactly what the UK police are, corrupt anx willing to Gestapo your rights to inflate their egos.
Which Crown Court was the case heard at..if it was BCH FET I would imagine it would be Luton CC, Aylesbury CC or Northampton CC?
Imagine to stop wildlife management for a 2 years..
Charlie who was he insured with think it should be disclosed
Surely common sense should prevail and the police should have gone back to the 'member of public' and said, '''yeah, he has gone a gun in his car because he's allowed to have one in there''
Naturally, if you can break the gun down and cover it up, that also makes sense.
I can’t believe that as gamekeeper someone who needs his guns for the job he does when to Tesco with a gun stock in the public eye on the back seat of his truck. that was the most stupid thing any firearms holder could of done the firearm license law in the uk is very strict And doesn’t need any excuse to take your guns I just hope he learnt his lesson and think about his actions.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the case:-
(a) police can only take your guns if a crime has been committed.
(b) police cannot just turn up at your house. They have to make an appointment to inspect your guns.
(c) it's unlawful to give your guns to a non license holder. Like a beat bobby
I sympathise hugely here. But I'd put my gun in the boot under something. Or traveling far strip and put in a case. More to the piunt who was peering in to the back seat of a 4×4 anyway. Sounds like someone had him stitched up deliberately.
I'm a witness, but not involved in any crime, and have been asked to hand in my certificate and gun's, which I have done. I'm told I have to have a suitability reveiw. Does this mean I am not getting them back? A point I think needs addressing, does being a gun holder mean you forgo the right to defend yourself, and if out and about you hear police officer in need of assistance do you say sorry officer I'm a gun holder I couldn't possibly get involved for fear of losing my guns
I had a 4 cab pickup for 12 years – my gun would be behind the rear seat in its slip out of sight when driving – leaving a gun on show is just asking for trouble – so many people anti-gun – these days – purely through ignorance
Leaving a gun on the back seat whilst going shopping was hugely irresponsible, especially as it wasn't even properly obscured from view. I wouldn't be surprised if the last 3 digits of his number plate are "GUN" and he has shooting related stickers on the car too.
I presume he doesn't get any appeal money back because he won? He should and perhaps that will stop unnecessary revocations
What are wonderful idea for someone who could make a safety car gun locker. That could be locked to back passenger seats or floor. When you design it and manufacture it, buy me a drink .
A section 1 stock sticking out on the back seat, while he’s in the shops is pretty reckless though
I may have a case coming up where a deranged family member is trying to get me, my dad and 2 friends licenses revoked. Some sad people in this country.
It should have been a complete ban. Good news it's coming very soon as grouse shooting is on the decrease after years of low grouse numbers and over-management of moors
18:17 Well if they properly restore the moores this shouldnt be the case. If they wish to ban burning they need to reestablish the original habitats with mosses like sphagnum moss and bogs to protect the area from wild fires as natural fire breaks.

You should never have a gun in public sight thats his fault for doing that.
But why was the Tesco shopper looking into his Truck?
Hi, I have had my license revoked twice from Essex police, both times I got my certificate back, both times I contacted the basc, no calls back, no emails and no support whatsoever!!! Hence to say I am no longer a member of this outfit that say that they give legal support!!! What a joke they are !!! Paul
The police are woke radicals.
It's us who have to worry about gun violence from them, they literally shot Charlie Kirk and stuck guns in our faces for opinions every day.
Check out the father Ted arrest.
Lesson learned. Do not leave your shotgun visible in your vehicle.
Realistically a formal warning would have been more appropriate, was Scott a real danger to public safety and the peace?
if you leave your fire arm on back seat stupid
i live in Durban my shotgun safe is next to my bed. My Glock is in another safe
Lucky but he will not leave on back seat next time
Sorry guns should not be left in a car full stop.
I reported a neighbour for dealing in drugs, nothing happened to the drug dealer but the coppers took my shot gun off me.
The are disarming people to make it harder for the people to deend themselves from a corrupt regime.
When it comes to police they are " jobs worths. " Look at the way the police lay into patriots with battons, and a smile on their faces.
The common laws which protect the people are being ignored.
Well done on getting your guns back.
Lots of “It’s a lot of money” how much are we talking about?
A good reason to hide your guns from everyone
So was Scott not given compensation?
Fantastic efforts guys as usual 😊👍👍💙💙🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
A long time ago when I was 16, I would use my air rifle out of my bedroom window into the rubbish tip wich was the other side of a path at the bottom of the back garden. One evening a real , good policeman was walking down the path. He shouted "watch what you are doing with that thing boy, or you will be in trouble". I replied "yes sir". He carried on walking. Try that now if you dare.
I’m very sceptical about this short video from Fieldsports Britain . It’s more of an advertisement to sell their insurance. I have spent sometime searching for insurance coverage and when you read the small print you find it’s certainly not in your favour unless the insurance company thinks it has a 90% success rate at winning the case they will not take it on , remember they are a business and in it to profit only.
The ex firearms enquiry officer is only talking about guidance not law and he’s chatting BS .
I will give you advice never open your door to the police talk to them from a closed door or preferably from an upstairs window and record conversation. If they are asking to you hand over your firearms they have zero evidence or zero authority, if they have evidence of a crime or danger to the public they will smash your door off its hinges, let them do this if you have committed no crime as then they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt you committed a crime and always demand a crown court trial by 12 people hearing your evidence. You won’t get justice in a magistrate’s court.
If you open your door you could be open to abuse of section 17 of pace / police and criminal evidence act . They don’t need a warrant to enter and search your property if they are searching for an offender or evidence.
If you hand them over your insurance policy is void as you voluntarily handed them over, you will find your policy only covers you for seizure from police.
Was there any proof of the initial allegation? How can the police go about this without concrete proof of an offence! I hope this ruling can be used as a precedent for future legal case.
Scott is right to say more people need to appeal. The balance of risk for the police currently falls in favour of seizing and revocation. Removing firearms reduces any possible risk to the public without any risk to their budget or their time as a result of appeals. It discourages rational and proportionate decision-making. There is a legal argument nobody has run yet for making the costs of appeal “follow the event”, ie if you win you get them back automatically. If that happened then that would stop this nonsense in its tracks.
Disgusting
Imagine if he had said to the cops that it was an empty gunslip on his back seat and that there was no actual gun in it at the time and that he would never go shopping with a firearm. That he always removed it from his vehicle, but from time to time he would leave the empty gunslip the back of his car..
I don't understand the actual issue with Scott's situation. Was it that the butt of the SA SGC was showing ?
I'm in the same place with my licence. Could do with some advice
You don't need expensive solicitors to take on the police as they seem to always get something wrong and they get turned over in court just as easily as anyone else going to court. The home office guidelines and a bit of research is all you need and keep everything short, to the point and legal and examples to back yourself up. All courts base all their sittings on fact so keep it factual and this can cause doubt and make you the winner
