Galbraith and Inoussa almost took us 3-0 up by the 20th minute mark, well before us being robbed of those two penalties in the second half, we are not far off being one of the very best teams in the league, the more these epic players play together and gel together the more consistent our performances will get, and we will score more goals and get a lot more victories.
Birmingham needed the refs to deny us a clearly onside goal to beat us narrowly by a last gasp goal. We beat a premier league team in one of the most entertaining comebacks ever, we went toe-to-toe with top of the table Boro and narrowly missed out on getting a draw away from home in the first game of the season, and Watford only claimed a draw thanks to a sublime free kick, otherwise if you think about it, we have really played well and can push on from here to perform at an amazingly high level soon.
We have one of the best strikers in the league now in Vipi, we have one of the best central midfield maestros in Galbraith, we have Eom, Ronald, Inoussa and Benson who all have the potential to win games when they hit their stride, we have Stamenic and Franco and Yalcouye who all love a good tackle and are top players, we even have Vigs, Cabango and Burgess as a really really solid wall at the back, and Tymon and Key are both capable of creativity in attack and solidity in defense…. if we give Idah time and get him firing, and get Cullen playing as a CAM when needed, and use Casey effectively as a back 3 sometimes to see out victories (like in the end against Hull), we really are a top 6 team for sure!
Yes we have dropped points a bit, but we have also gained so many thanks to great goals and brilliant defending, and we are showing that we are not far off going on some really great winning streaks…. it's only going to get even better this season, we have the team and the depth and the manager with all the potential to be celebrating another taste of the playoffs at the end of this season, and if we can harness that Nottingham Forest energy of never giving up, we can knock out anyone from the playoffs this season and really have a legendary season to remember!
