I am neutral on berhalter …. I think we make the World Cup but we need a real goal scoring threat to emerge to be anywhere near competitive …. We have a good young core but jozy, seargent, zardes up front isn’t scaring anyone

pep guardiola never go, look in the first 20 games we play 433 with two holding mid and both fullback stay behind the ball so we dont lose games until we get our system fully down. no you go out there set your stalls out and grind out the mistakes. the problem with berhalter or any us coach, you cant play possession with technically average players who are used to kick and run. think stoke who tried to move away from pulis to mark hughes and got relegated.
Cut out the players not good enough for the international level, don't call up new players that will obviously not good enough for the international level, and stick to the same line-up and formation: It's not rocket science. For an entire decade you could predict Croatia's, Uruguay's, Chile's, Spain's, etc. line-up and players, and they did well. Teams that struggled usually go with rotations, call up a lot of players, etc.
We need to drop Berhalter.

Until we beat the other team to the ball, and swarm the ball with three or four defenders at a time, we will not be able to play possession soccer. To play possession soccer, you need to get the ball back quickly, and we are always second to a loose ball and we don't close down the ball with three or four players like the best in the world do. We expect one defender to get the ball back one v one and that doesn't work! We need to antisibate better and attack even on defense if we want to play possession soccer. You do more hard running getting the ball back, and then you can take a break once you get possession back, but that isn't how we teach our young players, so why are we doing that at the national level?
USMNT and the federation are clueless. There's a manager called ARSENE WENGER if they're smart they should go get AW for 2 to 3yrs to help them build their foundation as a proper footballing nation, help them find an IDENTITY there are only 2 or 3 managers in the world today that can help your team form an identity almost instantly PEP GUADIOLA, ARSENE WENGER, JURGEN KLOPP but especially ARSENE he can take a team of nobodies and make them play solid football with a fluid system and proper identity. He's also the only 1 out of those 3 who's available. USMNT need to go to fifa and give him an offer he can't refuse. Get him to work with the USMNT for 3yrs and then after that hire a younger enthusiastic smart coach to build on the foundations ARSENE would've left. Just like Bayern did when they hired PEP like the German media said BAYERN only hired PEP so they could learn his tactics and style of play and help them form a new identity that's it. USMNT need an innovative transformative and experience coach to nurture these young players and find more talented young players that USMNT can build on for the future and future world cups. But you need a professor and coach like WENGER.
The US will not qualify for the next World Cup. Then an organizational structure will meet a reset.
The USMNT back in the 2000's at the world cup was both exciting and frustrating to watch with an attacking style that might have been in the box 15 times in a game, with 2 shots on goal. Tactical football is dull and boring. The identity of the MNT needs to swing back towards attacking style, trying to pressure the opposing team defense to make a mistake. Some the the USMNT's most exciting goals in history are from half to full-field attacks with midfielders and forwards going at full speed in nearly reckless abandon to get a shot off. That's an identity I'd like to see come back.
It's so incredible that all of these guys are so willing to dump all over the federations (rightly so) but are so unwilling to even remotely come close to criticizing Berhalter. Berhalter sucks. End of story.
The US Soccer federation absolutely botched everything about the hire. Greg Berhalter aint it. I think the perfect hire that would have given us a very sound structure and style of play is none other than Jorge Sampaoli
And a year and a half after they named Berhalter HC, here we are with all of these questions still on the table. Get rid of him! Mediocre at best.
When will US Soccer actually listen to the fan base? I haven't met or talked to one supporter who likes Berhalter or supports him as our coach. He's absolutely terrible and doesn't have the sack to put his foot down, instead he wants to be best friends with everyone. GTFO Berhalter.

We have the best young talent at this moment in the history is USMNT. 2022 will be fun for USA but 2026 will be the year USA breaks the threshold of world class. Pulisic will be In his prime, Gio Reyna will be our best player and top 10 in the world, Tyler Adams, Weston Mckinnie, Josh Sargent, Sergino Dest will be great with Zack Steffen at goalie. I’m excited for USMNT future
I would love for the US to play attractive,modern football. Right now we just don't have the players for that type of football. A smart manager adapts to the team they have and plays to their strengths and compensates for their weaknesses. Berhalter is so determined to play his style of football even if it is counter-productive to the talent level of the team.
Bring in European coaches for the youth and STOP PAY AND PLAY
