  1. I remember that game like if it was yesterday, a group of 10 of us sat by 1st base. We snuck in two big bottles of Rum and Vodka, we were all tanked by the 4th inning. When he caught that ball at home plate the place went nuts, food and drinks went flying on to the field.

  2. Go Pudge!!! The base runner is just as aggressive. I agree with Stewie, Buster Posey ruueeened baseball. No wonder there’s less excitement. P.S. (Rupert Murdoch) Stewie’s teddy bear is NO teddy bear.

  3. Giants fan here. I have to assume the Giants had nobody available to pinch run for JT Snow at that point in the game. Other than pitchers and catchers, he's the only one that gets thrown out on that play with 2 outs. And he was out by 5 feet. Sheesh.

  4. I was in right field when that happened…. my then 3 year old sister had never heard 72k people scream at once… it scared her so much she jumped on me like a scared cat and clawed me so hard I drew blood haha…. still an incredible moment and an incredible memory

  5. For those in the comments that said "he would be called safe today because catchers can't block the plate" freeze the video at 0:11 … pudge didn't block the plate at all.. he caught the ball with Snow over 10 feet from home.. leaned into him to tag him out.. and SNOW BARRELLED HIM. It was an insanely clean, all time MLB play… please don't tarnish it with BS

  6. I’m a cardinal fan since the 80’s but this pudge play is my most memorable play I’ve ever seen. Plus he went on to defeat my rival cubs thanks to Bartman 😂

  7. Has any posteason ever had as many insane moments as 2003?
    A's/Sox:
    -Ramon Hernandez Walkoff Bunt
-Bill Mueller walkoff homer (Eric Byrnes never touches home plate)
-Big Papi game winning three run double in bottom 8th.
-Derek Lowe striking out DLong with the bases loaded in the 9th of Game 5

    Yankees/Twins
-ok, not much really here, but the David Wells complete game in the clincher was aces.

    Marlins/Giants
-Jason Schmidt complete game shutout to beat Beckett
-Pudge two out, two run walkoff hit in game 3.
    -THIS play, of course

    Braves/Cubs
-DeRosa two out two run game winning double in game 1
-Sosa vs. Smoltz epic battle with game 4 on the line ending on a flyout to the wall
-Mark Prior Complete game in Game 2

    Yankees/Red Sox:
    -Pedro vs. Don Zimmer!
    -AARON BOONE

    Cubs/Marlins:
-Sosa off Urbina to force Extras, then Lowell wins it in the 11th
-Lofton scoring all the way from first in the 11th in Game 2
    -uh, BARTMAN
-Kerry Wood HOMER in Game 7 (ultimately for naught)

    Yankees/Marlins
-Alex Gonzalez World Seires Walkoff Homer off Jeff Weaver
    -Josh Beckett Game 6 Shutout

    Peak Baseball for sure.

  8. You can tell Conine lets it drop because he's watching Snow and possibly the 3rd base coach waving him around and knows he can get him. I imagine they sent Snow despite mediocre speed because it's 2 outs so he's off at the crack of the bat. Still, a very veteran play by Conine who was the only player with the fish to win both the '97 and 03' titles.

  9. Goosebumps everytime I see Pudge holding that ball. My favorite catcher growing up a Rangers fan. I remember REALLY rooting for Marlins this year because of him. Holy smokes that was 20 dang years ago!

  10. so so so happy and proud of Pudge! I was FURIOUS ( as a Texan) when we lost this decent, awesome, charitable great guy for freaking A Rod …so glad he got his Series !!!! No one deserved it more ( well Pudge and Nolan ryan) !!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. I remember my dad and I heading to see the A’s play the redsox in Oakland and listing to giants vs marlins game on the radio.

  12. I WAS THERE !! I moved to Jupiter Florida in the fall of 2002, I lived 3 miles from their spring training facility they shared with the Cardinals. My wife and I watched every game that season & fell in love with this team. We went to every game in the post season In Miami ( 90 miles each way) ❤️
