Haha ridiculous. In stark contrast to Bruno singing (?) anti-Sunderland song, it’s highly commendable that our players have shown maturity, unlike ….. well you know.
My thoughts are that they are idiots. If it was a key player doing this i would be more concerned but they are far from it. What u said is pretty much spot on, what i would say is they are young but not completely naive they know the reach off social media and should off known that this potentially wont go down well.
I'm a toon fan but tbh I think your explanation is pretty valid, it's not that deep. Born geordie Chris Rigg held up a fuck the mags flag and no one really cared in the toon fanbase. Yeah it's not the smartest thing to do but its hardly a reason to hound them out the club.
I love the banter between toon fans and mackems and I'm the first to join in on that but when it turns to genuine hatred its pretty stupid. At the end of the day our rivalry elevates both our clubs but its hardly life or death.
Who cares I'm a Sunderland fan I thought it was a great parade did the North East proud just sad it wasn't Sunderland but in the end don't care what the mags do
There is a real risk that the Saudis will continue to win honours or at the very least compete for them over the next few years while we continue to tread water. This will lead to more and more Saudi encroachment on Sunderland areas. Saw this all before in the 90s. We need a zero tolerance to this kind of thing both within the Club and within the fan base and local area. Call this out – and stamp it out.
They are professional footballers. Like any profession, they acknowledge something that other professional footballers have done. If no one acknowledged achievement, there would be no awards for anything in any field. Rivalry from fans doesn’t mean that the professional players can't acknowledge other players, regardless of the team.

no… maybe if it was dan neil and luke o nien i'd take a second look but not these 2.
Hope your well mate
it's professional players recognising an achievement. reading anything more into it is natural BUT it's a grand old nothing burger.

Anyone who gets offended by someone dropping a meaningless like on a social media post needs to grow up and get a grip.
